Getting Started with Vitals Manager

The Vitals Manager module allows a management-level user (such as the Clinical Application Coordinator) to manage settings and templates for the Vitals application.

These settings and templates are used to determine how data is displayed in Vitals: the user can set a range of normal and abnormal values for each vital sign, can create or edit templates for different users, and can assign default qualifiers to each type of vital sign.

To open Vitals Manager:

  1. Double-click the Vitals Manager icon on your desktop to open the VistA sign-on window.

  2. Enter your access and verify codes, then click OK.

  3. The main Vitals Manager window opens, showing a list of folders on the left side.

From this window, you can:

Set abnormal values

Set system parameters

Create or edit templates

Edit vitals categories and qualifiers

Print a list of qualifiers
