$TXT Created by VISTA-LOAD-AITC-5.AAC.DOMAIN.EXT (KIDS) on Tuesday, 04/28/20 at 14:09 ============================================================================= Run Date: JUL 09, 2020 Designation: GMRC*3*158 Package : GMRC - CONSULT/REQUEST TRACKING Priority: EMERGENCY Version : 3 SEQ #136 Status: Released Compliance Date: JUL 13, 2020 ============================================================================= Associated patches: (v)GMRC*3*146 <<= must be installed BEFORE `GMRC*3*158' Subject: HSRM MODIFICATIONS TO GMRC Category: - Data Dictionary - Routine Description: ============ HealthShare Referral Manager (HSRM) is an enterprise-wide system in support of community care used by community care staff to generate referrals and authorizations for Veterans receiving care in the community. Clinical and Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) community care staff located at VA medical centers (VAMCs), outpatient clinics, community-based outpatient clinics (CBOCs), and Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN) offices use this solution to enhance Veteran access to care. HSRM is an integral component of the community care information technology (IT) architecture that allows Veterans to receive care from community providers. HSRM allowed VA to transition from what was a largely manual process to a more streamlined process that generates standardized referrals and authorizations according to clinical and business rules. HSRM supports clinical and administrative processes that: 1. Seamlessly provide eligible Veterans with prompt referrals to a community provider of their choice 2. Provide community providers with referrals and authorizations consistent with industry standards 3. Decrease the administrative burden on VA clinical and community care staff members by establishing clinical and business pathways that reflect best practices, consistent outcomes, and reduced turnaround times, along with a solution that automates those pathways 4. Facilitate communication between community care staff, third-party administrators (TPAs), and community providers via a unified platform that enables the secure exchange of medical information. The VHA Office of Community Care has designated HealthShare Referral Manager (HSRM) a COVID-19 Application. In order for HSRM to properly support care for veterans, associated VistA patches must be tested and installed into production nationally. GMRC*3.0*158 is associated with HSRM. COVID-VCC-75 is our approval number. This patch adds a new field, DIVISION ID OF ENTERING PERSON (#81) to the REQUEST/CONSULTATION FILE (#123) to store the division of the user that first enters the consult. This field is only used by the Community Care Referrals and Authorization software to track the division the originating user is signed into when first creating the consult. As updates are made to the consult, this field is used to insure the original division information doesn't change. This patch filters the contents of the HL7 message to HSRM to remove any TAB characters ($c(11)) from the message. These characters cause problems when filing the consult data in HSRM.
