============================================================================= Run Date: JAN 07, 2021 Designation: OR*3*511 Package : OR - ORDER ENTRY/RESULTS REPORTING Priority: Mandatory Version : 3 SEQ #454 Status: Released Compliance Date: FEB 07, 2021 ============================================================================= Subject: iMedConsent Web Menu item Category: - Informational Description: ============ This patch provides instructions to install a new system wide CPRS tools menu item that will launch an internet explorer browser with a URL for access to iMedConsent Web. This is a new cloud-based version of iMedConsent that can run concurrently with the legacy iMedConsent software. (Note: Sites should prepare their users for removal of the legacy iMedConsent iMedConsent software link at the end of March 2021, after the new iMedConsent Web system has run concurrently with the legacy software long enough to familiarize users with the new system.) iMedConsent Web must be added as a CPRS Tool menu item in support of VHA Handbook 1004.05, iMedConsent, as requested by the Signature Informed Consent - iMedConsent Web project team and the VHA National Center for Ethics in Health Care (NCEHC). iMedConsent Web is cloud-based software that will be accessed by the link on the CPRS Tools Menu whose set up is provided in this informational patch. Information including training for users and administrators, training guides, requesting access to the tool, and implementation schedules are available on the intranet page for the National Center for Ethics in Health Care at http://vaww.patientdecisions.domain.ext/Web_Admin.asp. Site informatics personnel should not install this linkage and advertise it for general use until your site is scheduled for implementation (see iMedConsent Web Implementation/Deployment Schedule at: http://vaww.patientdecisions.domain.ext/Web_Admin.asp. This schedule is subject to change, so confirm dates prior to adding the URL for general use.) Paul Tompkins, (Paul.Tompkins@domain.ext, National Center for Ethics in Health Care) will update local iMedConsentT Facility Administrators via email if there are changes to implementation dates. Sites may install this linkage ahead of time for testing and iMedConsent Web Administrator purposes, but should label the option on the tools menu with language that clearly states it is not for general use (e.g., instead of label "iMedConsent Web" use "CAC Test Link-Do NOT Use"). The name can be changed to "iMedConsent Web" on the date the site is set to go liver, as posted on the schedule at: http://vaww.patientdecisions.domain.ext/Web_Admin.asp. Patch Installation: ------------------- As this is an informational patch there is no packman or KIDS build to install. There is a manual installation of a CPRS TOOLS Menu item that must be performed. Please work with your Clinical Application Coordinator to determine the proper location in your tools menu setup for the new iMedConsent Web item. Manual Installation Steps 1. Identify your station ID (Important: If your station ID is more than three digits only use the first three digits in teh string referenced in step 2. (e.g., StationID "528A6" should only use "528") 2. Copy the following tools menu item string to notepad, removing line breaks: iMedConsent Web=iexplore.exe https://vaww.icw.domain.ext/iMed4web/membership/vetera nsaffairspassthrough.aspx?facilityid=XXX&patientid=%DFN&useccow=true& forcesingleconsentcategory=false 3. Replace the XXX in this string with your three-digit station ID from step 1. 4. Use the resulting string and place it as a new tools menu item in your existing setup. The sequence where you place this on your CPRS tool bar is a local decision. The sequence number below is only an example only. This string will be pasted into VistA at the "Name=Command:" prompt. Below are two paths for installing the link on the CPRS tools drop down menu. Option one uses the "General Parameter Tools" VistA option. Option two uses the "GUI Parameters" VistA option. Both should work. Note: When selecting whether to install this option at the "Division" or "System" level, first check what level(s) your current legacy iMedConsentT software link is installed at. Non-integrated sites may need to install at the system level and integrated sites may need to install at the division level for each division.
