$TXT Created by DEVCRN.DOMAIN.EXT (KIDS) on Monday, 05/03/21 at 15:36 ============================================================================= Run Date: JUL 14, 2021 Designation: MPIF*1*77 Package : MPIF - MASTER PATIENT INDEX VISTA Priority: Mandatory Version : 1 SEQ #73 Status: Released Compliance Date: AUG 14, 2021 ============================================================================= Associated patches: (v)MPIF*1*70 <<= must be installed BEFORE `MPIF*1*77' (v)MPIF*1*73 <<= must be installed BEFORE `MPIF*1*77' Subject: MASTER VETERAN INDEX VISTA ENHANCEMENT - WEB SERVER SSL CONFIG Category: - Enhancement (Mandatory) - Routine - Other Description: ============ NOTE: Master Veteran Index (MVI) enhancements are being distributed in two VistA namespaces: DG and MPIF. Patches DG*5.3*1050 and MPIF*1.0*77 can be installed in any order as there are NO dependencies between these patches. NOTE: To prevent legacy systems ending up as Treating Facilities, MPIF* patches should NOT be installed on legacy systems or the FORUM CLAIMS system (since it is NOT a Veterans Affair Medical Center (VAMC) VistA system). MPIF*1.0*70 and MPIF*1.0*73 are the required builds for patch MPIF*1.0*77. NOTE: Do NOT install MPIF*1.0*70 on legacy sites or on the FORUM CLAIMS system. The following enhancements exported in this patch will allow MVI to: 1. Remotely update the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) Configuration for the existing Web Service that utilizes the Hypertext Transport Protocol Secure (HTTPS) communication link to the Person Service Identity Management (PSIM) system. 2. Send modified eXtensible Markup Language (XML) to Person Service Identity Management (PSIM) when 'Add' is ONLY for CERNER. Enhancement #1 MVI has further enhanced the existing Remote Procedure Call (RPC) [MPI VISTA HWS CONFIG] by adding an additional 'Optional' parameter that will now allow MVI to remotely update the following field for the 'MPI_PSIM_NEW EXECUTE' Web Service in the WEB SERVER (#18.12) file: - 3.02 SSL CONFIGURATION This change introduced into the RPC and the associated routine 'MPIFWSC' are needed to allow MVI to quickly adapt to changes as the Veteran Affairs (VA) moves towards implementing more modern secure communications. Ultimately, this remote capability enhancement should continue to result in minimal downtime and/or issues being reported/experienced by the sites. NOTE: See released patch XOBW*1.0*6 for additional instructions for manually creating the TLS/SSL Configuration on Cache, which will be required to be completed before MVI can move sites onto the new SSL Configuration (encrypt_only_tlsv12) for our Web Service (MPI_PSIM_NEW EXECUTE). Enhancement #2 MVI has enhanced the XML logic for the Application Programmer Interface (API) that performs an add of a patient at a preferred facility to now allow it to denote when the add should ONLY happen in CERNER. Therefore, the "AddType" parameter can now be sent as "ProxyAddPatientToCerner" to the API, which will indicate that the adding of the patient at the preferred facility should ONLY occur in CERNER when it is transmitted to PSIM. NOTE: The API for Adding a Preferred Facility is identified by the Controlled Integration Agreement #7134 on FORUM.
