The 508 compliance changes will be implemented in the Event Capture GUI client software, which is being distributed as a self-extracting Install Shield executable. This VistA patch will also implement small changes to the EC GUI CONTEXT VistA option to ensure version requirements between VistA and the GUI are maintained. The changes to the Event Capture GUI fix the following issues: 1. JAWS does not read the labels for the Location, DSS Unit, Category, Reasons, Modifiers Available, Modifiers Selected, and Procedures Selected components on the "Multiple Dates / Multiple Procedures" screen. 2. On the "Data Entry by Procedure" screen, JAWS reads only the Patient Identifier, Ordering Section, and Associated Clinic group box labels, as well as the Selection Criteria and Diagnoses section headers; other labels are not read. 3. On the "DSS Unit" screen, the tab order is not consistent with the layout of the components on the screen. 4. JAWS cannot read the "Patient Summary Report". 5. On the "Data Entry by Patient" screen, JAWS does not inform the user when adding a diagnosis from an item on the Problem List. 6. On the "Data Entry by Patient" screen, JAWS does not read the group box labels. In addition, nothing indicates which fields are required. 7. On the "Data Entry by Patient" screen, the user cannot exit the form without entering a valid date/time. 8. On the "Spreadsheet" screen, JAWS does not read the "Cell Data" label. 9. On the "Add DSS Unit" screen, JAWS does not read the content of the message dialog, and focus does not move to the first required field when the message dialog is closed. 10. On the "Print Category and Procedure Summary (Report)", multiple DSS Units cannot be selected. 11. On the "Reports" screen, using the arrow keys to navigate through the list of report results in a message dialog being displayed when the visual divider between regular and manager-only reports is encountered. 12. Using the keyboard, multiple items in a listbox cannot be selected unless they are consecutive. 13. On the "Add Event Code Screen" form, an error popup message appeared after attempting to add a procedure. 14. The "Add DSS Unit" screen does not indicate which fields are mandatory. 15. On the "Add or Update DSS Units" screen, the labels are not read for the DSS Unit Name, DSS Dept., and DSS Unit IEN components. The decision to back-out or rollback software will be a joint decision between development team, VA site/region personnel and other appropriate VA personnel. Prior to installing an updated KIDS package, the site/region should have saved a backup of the routines in a mail message using the Backup a Transport Global [XPD BACKUP] menu option (this is done at time of install). The message containing the backed-up routines can be loaded with the "Xtract PackMan" function at the Message Action prompt. The Packman function "INSTALL/CHECK MESSAGE" is then used to install the backed-up routines onto the VistA System. No data was modified by this patch installation and, therefore, no rollback strategy is required.
