The DIAGNOSTIC CODES (#78.3) file contains two records with the same diagnostic (DX) code name: BI-RADS CATEGORY 0. They differ in their descriptions, display text and national internal entry number (IEN). When a user runs the Abnormal Exam Report [RA ABNORMAL] option and selects BI-RADS CATEGORY 0 at the 'Select Diagnostic Codes:' prompt. This specific record has a unique IEN: either 1100 or 1110. Let's assume the IEN to be 1100. Any exam searched over a user input date range, will also display/print exams with a link to the diagnostic code BI-RADS CATEGORY 0 with IEN 1110. Problem: -------- The Abnormal Exam Report [RA ABNORMAL] option looks at the DX code name when sorting and displaying/printing exam information specific to an exam. For mammography exams with a primary or secondary diagnostic code of BI-RADS CATEGORY 0 the report does not differentiate between the user selection of the BI-RADS CATEGORY 0 records with IENs: 1100 and 1110. Resolution: ----------- For all exams, independent of imaging type, the Abnormal Exam Report [RA ABNORMAL] option will sort by diagnostic name and IEN to ensure each specific exam searched on by the user is a unique DIAGNOSTIC CODES (#78.3) file DX Code record.
