INC29452812 - User needs to be able to import new records to the ENGINEERING INV. File (#6914) from a tab-delimited spreadsheet. Problem: -------- Users entering new equipment details to the ENGINEERING INV. File (#6914) often have many entries to make in the thousands. It was requested that an import function should be made available to automate this process. Resolution: ----------- A new (hidden) option EN IMPORT NEW EQUIP. INV. RECS was created to run a new routine ENIMPORT which will read a tab-delimited file containing new inventory records, validate the records, then file them in #6914 using the appropriate FileMan APIs. A new security key ENIMPORT will give users access to the above option. A new routine ENIMPORT will prompt the user for the file location, then offer the following options: C Check the input file for errors I Import the input file R Roll back an import The results of the import will be kept in a VistA temporary file (^XTMP) with a 90-day purge date for use in the roll back function. Output from the validation will be to the screen, and the user will be prompted at the beginning to log the screen, and at the end to stop the logging. If the user needs to "undo" the import, s/he will be allowed to go back 1-90 days, then will be shown all files eligible for the roll back. When the file is selected, all new records from that run will be removed from the ENGINEERING INV. File (#6914) using the appropriate FileMan API.
