Load the KIDS distribution file via the 'Load a Distribution' option on the KIDS Installation menu. 2. Prior to installing the patch you may want to make use of the following optional installation options located on the KIDS Installation menu: a. Verify Checksums in Transport Global - This option will allow you to ensure the integrity of the routines that are in the transport global. b. Compare Transport Global to Current System - This option will allow you to view all changes that will be made when this patch is installed. It compares all components of this patch (routines, DD's, templates, etc.). c. Backup a Transport Global - This option will create a backup message. You must use this option and specify what to backup; the entire Build or just Routines. The backup message can be used to restore the routines and components of the build to the pre-patch condition. i. At the Installation option menu, select Backup a Transport Global ii. At the Select INSTALL NAME prompt, enter build name ONC*2.2*23 iii. When prompted for the following, enter "R" for Routines or "B" for Build. Post-Installation Instructions: After installing the ONC*2.2*23 patch, the new option "Migrate VistA Oncology and Related Data" [ONCOLOGY DATA MIGRATION] should be scheduled in TaskMan to run twice a week in off-hours, typically between 10:00 PM and 3:00 AM. The option can be scheduled using the TaskMan option Schedule/Unschedule Options [XUTM SCHEDULE]. From the TaskMan Management menu [XUTM MGR], select the option for Schedule/Unschedule Options [XUTM SCHEDULE]. You will be asked to "Select OPTION to schedule or reschedule". Enter "ONCOLOGY DATA MIGRATION" and press enter. You will be asked "Are you adding 'ONCOLOGY DATA MIGRATION' as a new OPTION SCHEDULING?", to which you should answer YES and press enter. A new screen will come up entitled Edit Option Schedule. In the QUEUED TO RUN AT WHAT TIME field, enter a date and time, for example T+1@2AM. This will schedule the option to run the first time, tomorrow @ 2am. In the RESCHEDULING FREQUENCY field, enter S@2am,W@2am in order to run the job every Saturday and Wednesday @ 2am. The decision to back out the patch will be a joint decision between VA site/region personnel and other appropriate VA personnel. Prior to installing the updated KIDS package, the site/region should have saved a backup of the routines in a mail message using the Backup a Transport Global [XPD BACKUP] menu option. The message containing the backed up routines can be loaded with the "Xtract PackMan" function at the Message Action prompt. The PackMan function INSTALL/CHECK MESSAGE is then used to install the backed-up routines onto the VistA system. Note: In the event that a site decides to back out this patch, the site should contact the National Service Desk (NSD) to submit an IT Service Desk ticket. The development team will then assist with the backout process and restoration of the DD and Input Template.
