DO NOT ASSIGN MENUS OR KEY TO ANY VISTA USER. The VistA Transition Team (VTT) will assign the menus and key to the appropriate staff on the day the VAMC is transitioning to the new EHR. This patch is being released nationally. ************************************************************************** On the night of cutover from VistA to Cerner Millennium, patients must be discharged from all institutions (e.g., Domiciliary, VAMC) associated with the site. To date, that process has been a slow, tedious manual one. EHM*1*15 loads the Automated Patient Discharge Tool to automate the process. The tool includes options to list and summarize patients eligible for discharge as well as to discharge them. Note: The Tool records the date/time of discharge as NOW. Note: The Tool records the type of discharge as REGULAR (see FACILITY MOVEMENT TYPE file (#405.1)). This is done in the EHM DGPM DISCHARGE input template to the PATIENT MOVEMENT file (#405) for the TYPE OF MOVEMENT field (#.04). EHM DGPM DISCHARGE was cloned from the DGPM DISCHARGE input template. Note: The Tool stores the date/time when the automatic discharge process completed for a patient in the PATIENT file (#2) in the DISCHARGED TO CERNER field (#9000). The field was added by DG*5.3*1128. Note: The Tool sets the status of the discharge summary record for the patient in the INCOMPLETE RECORDS file (#393) to COMPLETED. Note: v3 of the patch added screens when selecting institution and/or hospital location to restrict them to relevant entries. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- EHRM Impact Statement: ---------------------- This patch should have EHRM impact but the impact is intended, and can be installed at all sites, including EHRM converted sites.
