$TXT Created by DEVCRN.DOMAIN.EXT (KIDS) on Friday, 02/14/20 at 10:21 ============================================================================= Run Date: MAR 31, 2020 Designation: DG*5.3*1000 Package : DG - REGISTRATION Priority: Mandatory Version : 5.3 SEQ #873 Status: Released Compliance Date: MAY 01, 2020 ============================================================================= Associated patches: (v)DG*5.3*915 <<= must be installed BEFORE `DG*5.3*1000' (v)DG*5.3*981 <<= must be installed BEFORE `DG*5.3*1000' Subject: MASTER VETERAN INDEX VISTA ENHANCEMENTS - ENTERPRISE REGISTRATION UPDATES Category: - Routine - Enhancement (Mandatory) Description: ============ DG*5.3*915 and DG*5.3*981 are the only required builds for patch DG*5.3*1000. The following enhancement to the Enterprise Registration prompts exported in this patch was requested by the Enrollment System (ES) group. Enhancement ES has requested that the Master Veteran Index (MVI) no longer default the following fields in the PATIENT (#2) file when executing the Register a Patient [DG REGISTER PATIENT] menu option (aka. Enterprise Registration), but instead prompt the user for the required values for the patient's record: - SERVICE CONNECTED? (#.301) - TYPE (#391) (ie. Patient) - VETERAN (Y/N)? (#1901) However, if the user responds with a "NO" to the VETERAN (Y/N)? prompt, then they will NOT be needlessly prompted for the SERVICE CONNECTED? value, as this field will then automatically be defaulted/set to "NO". ** Note: Prior to this patch, the Register a Patient menu option automatically defaulted/populated the following values for these fields: - SERVICE CONNECTED? - "NO" - TYPE - "NSC VETERAN" - VETERAN (Y/N)? - "YES" Finally, an existing defect was discovered during the testing of these changes that if the user responds to the PATIENT TYPE prompt with a lower-case value, that a NULL ("") was filed for the selected PATIENT TYPE into the TYPE (#391) field in the PATIENT (#2) file, because the IX^DIC lookup call won't resolve these lower-case entries to their external value (e.g. 'col' to 'COLLATERAL') as currently implemented. Therefore, the code was updated to appropriately use the returned 'Y' value from the IX^DIC lookup call instead of 'X' when determining the PATIENT TYPE value to store in the TYPE (#391) field.
