The only build enforced requirement is that: - DG*5.3*1024 be installed before MPIF*1.0*74. (Do NOT install MPIF*1.0*74 on legacy sites or on the FORUM CLAIMS system!) NOTE: Legacy sites and the FORUM CLAIMS system can install just the DG*5.3*1024 patch. The MPIF*1.0*74 patch should NOT be installed on legacy sites or on the FORUM CLAIMS system. DG*5.3*926 and DG*5.3*1000 are the required builds for patch DG*5.3*1024. The following issue exported in this patch is needed to ensure that the the Patient Record Flag (PRF) is being shared if applicable when the patient is newly added to the site. Issue An issue was identified where an existing High Risk for Suicide (CAT I) flag was not obtainable from the owner site of the flag. After analysis, it was determined that the current Patient Record Flag (PRF) which is an in-line process that is performed within the VistA Register a Patient [DG REGISTER PATIENT] menu option that comes after the MPI search and correlation process was NOT currently executing the PRF code as the check for a new patient wasn't returning back as true and therefore not being triggered. Once that issue was resolved, another issue was identified indicating that the correlation list was also NOT being set in VistA, but PRF assumed that it was for pulling the PRF from the owner VistA site. MVI has now updated the process for the menu option Register a Patient [DG REGISTER PATIENT] to retrieve/set the correlation list as part of the MPI search and correlation process so that it is available for downstream consumers such as PRF for pulling the remote PRF from other VistA locations. Note: This particular timing issue with PRF will be addressed. Unfortunately, it will NOT completely resolve all of the PRF implementation issues as they do NOT have a failover strategy if the VistA 'Add' is done outside of the 'Register a Patient' process or if the 'Register a Patient' process fails to connect to the MPI. However, that process does NOT set the correlation list in VistA, but the PRF assumes that it is already set and that it is able to pull the PRF from the owner VistA site. Resolution: ----------- MVI will augment the VistA code that is executed during the Register a Patient [DG REGISTER PATIENT] option so that the new patient check returns the appropriate/correct value and that the correlation list is set and made available for downstream consumers such as PRF for pulling remote PRF from other VistA locations, as part of the MPI search and correlation process. NOTE: This solution resolves this particular timing issue. However, it does NOT completely resolve all PRF implementation issues, as their current implementation does NOT have a failover strategy when: - The VistA 'ADD' is completed outside of the Register a Patient process. - The Register a Patient process fails to obtain a connection to the VA MVI.
