$TXT Created by DEVCRN.DOMAIN.EXT (KIDS) on Friday, 07/31/20 at 06:56 ============================================================================= Run Date: SEP 15, 2020 Designation: DG*5.3*1026 Package : DG - REGISTRATION Priority: Mandatory Version : 5.3 SEQ #888 Status: Released Compliance Date: OCT 16, 2020 ============================================================================= Associated patches: (v)DG*5.3*981 <<= must be installed BEFORE `DG*5.3*1026' Subject: MASTER VETERAN INDEX VISTA ENHANCEMENT - TFL API UPDATE Category: - Routine - Enhancement (Mandatory) - Other Description: ============ DG*5.3*981 is the only required build for patch DG*5.3*1026. The following application programming interface (API) enhancements exported in this patch are needed to support the retrieval of the full list of Corresponding Identification (ID) values from the TREATING FACILITY LIST File #391.91 by all known Identification (ID) types at the site and to also provide a means for consumers to remotely retrieve Primary View data for a patient from the Master Patient Index (MPI) for an Integration Control Number (ICN). Enhancement #1 Currently the remote procedure call (RPC) [VAFC LOCAL GETCORRESPONDINGIDS] is ONLY returning the full list of corresponding IDs from the TREATING FACILITY LIST File (#391.91) when one of the following ID type values known by the site is passed to the RPC: - Data File Number (DFN) - Department of Defense (DOD) Electronic Data Interchange Personal Identifier (EDIPI) - ICN Routine VAFCTFU2 has been modified to ensure that users are now always able to use ANY ID value known for a patient when retrieving the full list of corresponding IDs, as long as the ID used in the query exists in the site's TREATING FACILITY LIST (#391.91) file. Enhancement #2 Currently the only way for applications in VistA to retrieve Primary View (PV) data for a patient from the MPI in a useable format is through APIs that require providing identity traits, but NOT by the ICN. Therefore MPI has created a new API (GETPV^DGRPCM) to provide a means for retrieving usable PV data from the MPI through the new VistA RPC [MPI RETURN PRIMARY VIEW DATA] for a patient by just their ICN value. Pre-Installation Instructions ----------------------------- This patch takes less than a minute to install. This patch may be installed with users on the system, but it is recommended that installation occur during off hours to avoid collisions. Installation Instructions ------------------------- 1. Choose the PackMan message containing this build. Then select the INSTALL/CHECK MESSAGE PackMan option to load the build. 2. From the Kernel Installation and Distribution System Menu, select the Installation Menu. From this menu, A. Select the Verify Checksums in Transport Global option to confirm the integrity of the routines that are in the transport global. When prompted for the INSTALL NAME enter the patch or build name. (ex. DG*5.3*1026) NOTE: Using will not bring up a Multi-Package build even if it was loaded immediately before this step. It will only bring up the last patch in the build. B. Select the Backup a Transport Global option to create a backup message of any routines exported with this patch. It will not backup any other changes such as DDs or templates. C. You may also elect to use the following options: i. Print Transport Global - This option will allow you to view the components of the KIDS build. ii. Compare Transport Global to Current System - This option will allow you to view all changes that will be made when this patch is installed. It compares all of the components of this patch, such as routines, DDs, templates, etc. D. Select the Install Package(s) option and choose the patch to install. i. If prompted 'Want KIDS to Rebuild Menu Trees Upon Completion of Install? NO//', answer NO. ii. When prompted 'Want KIDS to INHIBIT LOGONs during the install? NO//', answer NO. iii. When prompted 'Want to DISABLE Scheduled Options, Menu Options, and Protocols? NO//', answer NO. Post-Installation Instructions ------------------------------ N/A Back-Out Plan ------------- The DG patch backout procedure would consist of restoring the original routine (VAFCTFU2) using the back-up message created during the patch installation. In addition, routine (DGRPCM) and RPC (MPI RETURN PRIMARY VIEW DATA) can be deleted from the system since they are NEW components introduced upon installation of this patch. Note: The new RPC [MPI RETURN PRIMARY VIEW DATA] can be removed using the [ENTER OR EDIT FILE ENTRIES] OPTION on the REMOTE PROCEDURE (#8994) file in FileMan (FM). (Ie. SET NAME (.01 Field) to '@') If assistance is still required to back-out the patch please contact the National Service Desk (NSD) to log a help desk ticket so the development team can assist in the process. Note: This process should only be done with the concurrence and participation of the development team and the appropriate VA Site/Region personnel.
