This is caused by missing Name Component records in the PATIENT (#2) file, and the NAME COMPONENTS (#20) file. Resolution: ----------- We re-created a version of the original name conversion Application Programming Interface (API) in patch DG*5.3*244 and DG*5.3*620. The routines with these patches were removed from many sites after the original process was completed. The new option DG NAME COMPONENT UPDATE runs the new routine DGRNCVNC. This option and its security key DGPNC will have to be assigned to the appropriate IT staff installing this patch. The routine will go through the patient file and place the appropriate entries into the NAME COMPONENTS (#20) file, PATIENT (#2) file, and corresponding "NAME" (#1.01) field for all patients missing this information. This option will only be run once after install and only if records are found that need updating. Please see Pre/Post installation overview for instructions. Test Sites: ----------- James E. If the patch was backed up for the build, from the Kernel Installation and Distribution System Menu, select the Installation Menu. Select the Install Package(s) option and choose the patch (DG*5.3*1107b) to install.
