Resolution: ----------- Post-install routine, DVBAP232, has been created to update the SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS (#396.25) file by adding a new reason 'VICAP'. This patch should take less than 2 minutes to install. Installation Instructions: -------------------------- 1. Choose the PackMan message containing this build. Then select the INSTALL/CHECK MESSAGE PackMan option to load the build. 2. From the Kernel Installation & Distribution System Menu, select the Installation Menu. From this menu, a. Select the Verify Checksums in Transport Global option to confirm the integrity of the routines that are in the transport global. When prompted for the INSTALL NAME, enter the patch name (ex. DVBA*2.7*232). b. Print Transport Global - This option will allow you to view the components of the KIDS build. c. Select the Backup a Transport Global option to create a backup message of any routines exported with this patch. For each patch you can specify what to backup; the entire Build or just Routine. When asked to specify what to backup, select Routines. It is NOT recommended to use this backup to restore the system as it will NOT restore your system to pre-patch condition. Compare Transport Global to Current System - This option will allow you to view all changes that will be made when this patch is installed. It compares all components of this patch, such as routines, DD's, templates, etc. e. Select the Install Package(s) option and choose the patch to install. i. When prompted "Want KIDS to INHIBIT LOGONs during the install? NO//", answer NO. ii. When prompted "Want to DISABLE Scheduled Options, Menu Options, and Protocols? NO//", answer NO. Post-Installation Instructions: ------------------------------- 1. Details of the changes applied by this patch are provided during the installation and may also be reviewed with the Install File Print option on the Utilities menu on the Kernel Installation and Distribution System menu. 2. It is important to check the SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS (#396.25) file post installation to make sure that all of the updates are correctly reflected in the SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS (#396.25) file. If any discrepancies are found, you should enter a ServiceNow (SNOW) ticket. 3. You may delete the routine, DVBAP232, from your production system after the patch has been successfully verified. Back-Out Plan: -------------- Due to the complexity of this patch, it is not recommended for back-out, and a restore from a backup of the Transport Global should not be attempted. In the event that an installer decides to back out this patch, the site should submit a ServiceNow (SNOW) helpdesk ticket.
