All Compensation & Pension (C&P) exam templates have been converted (re-scripted) to the Pascal programming language to be compatible with the new run-time engine. This re-scripting of the templates provides the benefit of the templates loading faster as well as faster navigation within the template(s). The name of the AMPUTATION template is being changed from 'AMPUTATION' to 'RESIDUALS OF AMPUTATIONS'. Only the name has been changed and the template content has not been modified. AUDIO ----- a) Physical Exam tab: The Puretone Threshold Measurements were not averaging correctly when a space was entered within the measurement and this has been corrected. b) Contains new report format which includes consolidation of user responses. EYE EXAMINATION --------------- a) Significant content and workflow changes have been made based upon the recommendations of VBA content experts. b) Physical Exam tab, Central Visual Acuity and Keratoconus button: The word contraindicated was misspelled as 'contradicted' in the bolded directions for eye. The misspelling has been corrected. GENERAL MEDICAL EXAMINATION --------------------------- a) History tab, GU button, Urinary incontinence='YES': The 'Type of leakage' list box now allows multi selection. b) History tab: The field 'Other significant history or comments' was not appearing on the report. This defect has been corrected and the field now appears on the report output. c) Physical Exam tab, Endocrine button: The word 'Exophthalmos' was spelled wrong in the question 'Is there evidence of exophthalmos' on the Endocrine Exam panel. d) Physical Exam tab, Abdomen/GI button, All Normal button: Multiple 'Normal values were appearing in the 'Rectal exam:' text box area when 'All Normal' is clicked multiple times. This has been corrected so that once the 'All Normal' button is selected, the 'Normal' value will only populate once. GENITOURINARY EXAMINATION ------------------------- a) History tab, Urinary leakage?='YES': The 'Which of these are required?' list box for urine leakage now allows for multi selection. GULF WAR GUIDELINES ------------------- a) Physical Exam tab, Abdomen/GI button, All Normal button: Multiple 'Normal' values were appearing in the 'Rectal exam:' text box area when 'All Normal' is clicked multiple times. This has been corrected so that once the 'All Normal' button is selected, the 'Normal' value will only populate once. b) History tab, Problem Details button: The following questions have been added to the Document Problems window: i) Provide the details about onset, frequency, duration, and severity of all complaints. ii) For all symptoms, list the factors that precipitate and relieve them. HAND, THUMB AND FINGERS ----------------------- a) Significant content and workflow changes have been made based upon VBA content experts. In particular the Range of Motion sections were extensively revised and the amount of data collected was decreased. INITIAL EVALUATION FOR POST-TRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER (PTSD) ------------------------------------------------------------ a) Psych Summary tab: Enable the 'Effects of PTSD (or other diagnosed mental disorder) on Social and Occupational Functioning' button to allow completion in any case where there is an 'Axis I' diagnosis (Diagnosis tab). b) Psych Summary tab: For the label for social/occupational impairment, change label to: Effects of PTSD (or other diagnosed mental disorder) on Social and Occupational Functioning. c) Tab label for social/occupational impairment was changed to read: Effects of PTSD (or other diagnosed mental disorder) on social and occupational functioning. d) Psych Exam tab, Instructions button: The instructions provided on the MSE instructions have been updated. JOINTS ------ a) Diagnosis tab, Employment History button: An Employment History panel was added. b) Significant content and workflow changes have been made based upon the recommendations of VBA content experts. In particular, the Range of Motion sections were extensively revised, and the amount of data collected was decreased. c) Physical Exam tab, ROM of Joints Affected by Disease or Injury button, Review Normal ROM (Text) button, Knee button: Under text ROM for knee, Lachman's test, now states: 'the normal is less than 5mm of motion (1/4 inch)'. It had previously stated: 'the normal is less than 5mm of motion (1.4 inch)'. LIVER, GALLBLADDER, AND PANCREAS -------------------------------- a) History tab, Document Problems button: On the Problem Specific History panel, when Medication under Current Treatment is chosen the Yes/No buttons under each type of medication (Interferon, Ribavirin, etc) do not become enabled. The type of medications will now be enabled and allow entry. PERIPHERAL NERVES ----------------- a) History tab: The 'Re-open' button for the 'Any current symptoms?' question would appear when answered 'NO'. This has been corrected to only open when answered 'YES'. PRISONER OF WAR PROTOCOL EXAMINATION ------------------------------------ a) Physical Exam tab, Endocrine button: On the Endocrine Exam panel, the word 'exophthalmos' was spelled wrong in the question 'Is there evidence of exophthalmos'. This misspelling has been corrected. b) Physical Exam tab, Abdomen/GI button: On the Abdomen/Gastrointestinal Abnormality panel, when clicking the 'All Normal' button multiple times, the word Norma ' was being inserted into the Rectal exam area multiple times. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS * Users on the VistA system: This patch may be installed with users on the system, but should be loaded during non-peak hours to minimize disruption to users and to reduce the possibility of errors when the routines are updated. There are no VistA options to disable while installing this patch. * Software Installation Time: The estimated installation time is less than 15 minutes during off peak hours. * Required Builds: The following is a list of REQUIRED builds for this KIDS distribution. Use the INSTALL/CHECK MESSAGE option on the PackMan menu to unload the KIDS distribution included with this message. 2. From the 'Kernel Installation & Distribution System' menu, select the Installation menu. 3. From this menu, you may now elect to use the following options (when prompted for INSTALL NAME, enter DVBA*2.7*124). a. Backup a Transport Global - This option will create a backup message of any routines exported with the patch. It will NOT backup any changes such as DDs or templates. b. Compare Transport Global to Current System - This option will allow you to view all changes that will be made when the patch is installed. It compares all components of the patch (routines, DDs, templates, etc.). c. Verify Checksums in Transport Global - This option will allow you to ensure the integrity of the routines that are in the transport global. d. Print Transport Global - this option will allow you to view the components of the KIDS build. 4. Use the Install Package(s) option and select package DVBA*2.7*124. 5. When prompted 'Want KIDS to Rebuild Menu Trees Upon Completion of Install? YES//', respond NO. 6. When prompted 'Want KIDS to INHIBIT LOGONs during the install? YES//', it is recommended you answer NO. 7. When prompted to 'Want to DISABLE Scheduled Options, Menu Options, and Protocols? YES//', answer NO. 8. Deletion of temporary (Pre/Post Install) routine. a. Pre/Post-init routine DVBA2824 is a temporary routine used as part of the pre/post-install process and will be automatically deleted by KIDS after patch installation. However, in some cases Cache doesn't always delete the routine. You may delete it manually if you discover this at your site. VI.
