INC14800918 - FY21 MID-YEAR UPDATE TO EC NATIONAL PROCEDURE (#725) FILE Problem: -------- The Managerial Cost Accounting Office (MCAO) requested an update to the EC NATIONAL PROCEDURE (#725) file. The request is to inactivate one (1) existing procedure, update three (3) CPT codes, and change forty (40) procedure names in the file. Resolution: ----------- The routines (EC2P153A, EC2P153B, and EC2P153C) included in this patch will update the EC NATIONAL PROCEDURE file (#725) by inactivating one (1) existing procedure, updating three (3) CPT codes, and change forty (40) procedure names in the file. This patch will also create a task during install to inactivate any Event Code Screens that are associated with inactive EC National Procedure codes. Pre-Installation Instructions: ------------------------------ This installation may be installed with users on the system although it is recommended it be queued to run after normal business hours to minimize potential disruption to users. This patch should take less than 2 minutes to install. Prior to install this patch, backup file ^EC(725) using your site's policy for backing up data. If the steps are unknown, please follow the following procedures: 1. Go to a command prompt. 2. At the prompt, enter D ^%GOGEN. 3. At the device prompt, enter the directory and file name where the global backup is to be stored. 4. At the Parameter? prompt, press . 5. At the Global prompt, enter ^EC(725 6. Verify that the file was created and exists in the directory specified. Installation Instructions: 1. From the Kernel Installation & Distribution System Menu, select the Installation Menu. From this menu, a. Select the Verify Checksums in Transport Global option to confirm the integrity of the routines that are in the transport global. When prompted for the INSTALL NAME, enter the patch name (ex. EC*2.0*153). b. Print Transport Global - This option will allow you to view the components of the KIDS build. c. Select the Backup a Transport Global option to create a backup message of any routines exported with this patch. For each patch you can specify what to backup; the entire Build or just Routine. When asked to specify what to backup, select Routines. It is NOT recommended to use this backup to restore the system as it will NOT restore your system to pre-patch condition. Please see Back-Out plan section for additional information. Until the issue is resolved installers should use the "ROUTINE" method (original process) of backing up a patch. d. It compares all components of this patch, such as routines, DD's, templates, etc. e. Select the Install Package(s) option and choose the patch to install. i. When prompted "Want KIDS to INHIBIT LOGONs during the install? NO//", answer NO. ii. When prompted "Want to DISABLE Scheduled Options, Menu Options, and Protocols? NO//", answer NO. Post-Installation Instructions: ------------------------------- You may delete the routines EC2P153A, EC2P153B and EC2P153C from your production system after the patch has been successfully verified. Back-Out/Roll Back Plan: ------------------------ Due to the complexity of this patch, it is not recommended for back-out, and a restore from a backup of the Transport Global should not be attempted. In the event that a patch installer decides to back out this patch, the patch installer should create a ticket in ServiceNow (SNOW). The development team will need to issue a follow-on patch in order to comprehensively back-out this patch and restore the system to a functioning state.
