In order to make the transition to 2FA, it was also necessary to upgrade the Vitals User and Vitals Manager GUI to Delphi version XE8 in order to implement the new Remote Procedure Call (RPC) Broker allowing compliance. Note: Patch GMRV*5.0*27 includes a new GUI within the .MSI executable. This task force has mandated that all internal, user facing VA applications become two factor authentication (2FA) compliant by April 30, 2017. In order to be compliant, applications are required to authenticate users via Personal Identity Verification (PIV) cards. Note: Usernames and password will no longer be permitted for employees and contractors to access VA applications. Resolution: ----------- As part of the transition to 2FA, Vitals User and Vitals Manager were upgraded to Delphi XE8 to allow access to the latest version of the RPC Broker implementing 2FA. Choose the PackMan message containing this patch and invoke the INSTALL/CHECK MESSAGE PackMan option. 2. From the Kernel Installation & Distribution System menu, select the Installation menu. 3. From this menu, you may select to use the following options: (when prompted for INSTALL NAME, enter GMRV*5.0*27) a. Verify Checksums in Transport Global - This option will allow you to ensure the integrity of the routines that are in the transport global. b. Print Transport Global - This option will allow you to view the components of the KIDS build. c. Compare Transport Global to Current System - This option will allow you to view all changes that will be made when this patch is installed. It compares all components of this patch (routines, DD's, templates, etc.). d. Backup a Transport Global - This option will create a backup message of any routines exported with this patch. It will not backup any other changes such as DD's or templates. 4. Use the Install Package(s) option and select the package GMRV*5.0*27. 5. When Prompted "Want KIDS to INHIBIT LOGONs during the install? NO//", respond NO. 6. When Prompted "Want to DISABLE Scheduled Options, Menu Options, and Protocols? NO//", respond NO. 7. Install the new Vitals executable files. a) Double-click on the VITL5_P27.MSI file to start the InstallShield Wizard. b) Follow the Wizard instructions. When prompted to "Modify, repair, or remove the program." select "Repair". c) Follow the wizard instructions to completion. 8.
