The following issues are addressed: 1. The MAS DEMOGRAPHICS OTHER (DEMC) component is renamed to MAS DEM. SEXUAL ORIENTATION (DEMS), so users know what information the component displays. 2. A new type named VA-MAS DEM SEXUAL ORIENTATION and a new object named VA-MAS DEM SEXUAL ORIENTATION (TIU) are created that allows other packages to use the MAS DEM SEXUAL ORIENTATION component. 3. A new component, named MAS DEMOGRAPHICS PRONOUNS (DEMP), is created that will display a patient's preferred pronouns. Additionally, a new type named VA-MAS DEM PRONOUNS and a new object named VA-MAS DEM PRONOUNS (TIU) are created that allow other packages to use the new component. 4. A new component, named MAS DEMOGRAPHICS GENDER ID (DEMG), is created that will display a patient's gender identity. Additionally, a new type named VA-MAS DEM GENDER IDENTITY and a new object named VA-MAS DEM GENDER IDENTITY (TIU) are created that allow other packages to use the new component. 5. Adds contraindication and refusal information to the following components: PCE IMMUNIZATIONS (IM) PCE IMMUNIZATIONS DETAILED (DIM) PCE IMMUNIZATIONS SELECT CHRON (SIMC) PCE IMMUNIZATIONS SELECTED (SIM) PCE IMMUN SELECT REVERSE CHRON (SIMR) Patch Components: ----------------- Files & Fields Associated: File Name (Number) Field Name (Number) New/Modified/Deleted ------------------ ------------------- -------------------- N/A Forms Associated: Form Name File Number New/Modified/Deleted --------- ----------- -------------------- N/A Mail Groups Associated: Mail Group Name New/Modified/Deleted --------------- -------------------- N/A Options Associated: Option Name Type New/Modified/Deleted ----------- ---- -------------------- N/A Protocols Associated: Protocol Name New/Modified/Deleted ------------- -------------------- N/A Security Keys Associated: Security Key Name ----------------- N/A Templates Associated: Template Name Type File Name (Number) New/Modified/Deleted ------------- ---- ------------------ -------------------- N/A Remote Procedures Associated: Remote Procedure Name New/Modified/Deleted --------------------- -------------------- N/A Parameter Definitions Associated: Parameter Name New/Modified/Deleted -------------- -------------------- N/A Additional Information: ----------------------- New Service Requests (NSRs): NSR 20150414 Sexual Orientation Identify This request includes the creation of a new demographic field for self-identified sexual orientation identity that links with all Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) data systems. Veterans Health Administration (VHA) policy on the lesbian, gay, and bisexual population is currently being developed. At present we cannot identify the number of lesbian, gay, and bisexual Veterans enrolled in VA or what their clinical needs are. Such a field would allow VA to know the prevalence of enrolled lesbian, gay, bisexual, and heterosexual identified Veterans in VA. VA could track service utilization and health outcomes based on sexual orientation identity and could design clinical programs to address health disparities experienced by lesbian, gay, and bisexual Veterans. Inclusion of this information as a demographic field is the current trend in non-VA healthcare systems. The Joint Commission now mandates services for lesbian, gay, and bisexual Veterans, but VA cannot identify the number of lesbian, gay, and bisexual Veterans or what their clinical needs are via current databases. NSR 20130903 VistA Immunization Enhancements This request is to support the delivery of standard, interoperable immunization data for exchange with DoD. As of July 2013, in response to strategic decisions made by the Interagency Program Office (IPO), VA and DoD, the direction of the Joint Immunization Capability was altered to allow the VA to move ahead with a development effort to ensure readiness to meet Federated Data Accelerator goals by September 30, 2014. The requirements documented in this request include VA Short Term needs to support VistA Evolution as well as VA Long term needs for complete standardized, interoperable immunization data.
