These FM searches are * * listed below in the Pre/Post Installation Overview as well as * * the RNs and the Deployment, Installation, Back-Out, and Rollback * * Guide (DIBR). * * * ************************************************************************** This patch includes the following enhancements: 1. Modify the VistA-HBPC module to increase the number of providers that can be assigned a unique Provider Number from the current limit of 2,999 to an upper limit of 9,999. 2. Modify the VistA-HBPC module to add the site number with suffix-level granularity to patient-level HBPC data for each patient admission to an HBPC Program. A "parent site" is defined for each patient which is cross-referenced to the MEDICAL CENTER DIVISION (#40.8) file. This practice could cause potential data overlays. The restriction on the number of providers is enforced by the FileMan input transform on the NUMBER (#.01) field of the HBHC PROVIDER (#631.4) file. Resolution 1: ------------ Modify the FileMan input transform on the NUMBER (#.01) field of the HBHC PROVIDER (#631.4) file so that an upper limit of 9,999 providers can be assigned per VistA site. Issue 2 (20080526): ------------------ Because a default site number is transmitted to AITC for all patient and medical foster home information, the medical center division and encounter location cannot be accurately determined. Resolution 2: ------------ Modify the FileMan input transform on the NUMBER (#.01) field of the HBHC PROVIDER (#631.4) file so that an upper limit of 9,999 providers can be assigned per VistA site. A field for "Parent Site" has been added to the HBHC SYSTEM PARAMETERS (#631.9), HBHC PATIENT (#631), and HBHC MEDICAL FOSTER HOME (#633.2) files. The parent site file will link each patient and medical foster home to a sanctioned Austin Information Technology Center (AITC) site in the MEDICAL CENTER DIVISION (#40.8) file. (2) An active number in the HBHC PROVIDER (#631.4) file is linked to more than one provider. The following TWO FileMan searches must be performed BEFORE this patch is installed and any records identified must be corrected before continuing on to the patch installation section. 1) Perform the following FileMan search to determine if any provider is defined with more than one active HBPC provider number. (Before inactivating one of the numbers, determine if these are different providers who have the same name.) If sites DO NOT perform these searches and resolve duplicate records, the patch contains an environment check routine which will halt installation if: (1) any provider is linked to more than one active number in the HBHC PROVIDER (#631.4) file; or (2) an active number in the HBHC PROVIDER (#631.4) file is linked to more than one provider. If the environment check routine finds issues described above, a MailMan message is sent to the installer as well as holders of the HBHC MANAGER security key.
