These entries are being added to the files for VHA Unique Identifier (VUID) Seeding which is part of standardizing the PERSON CLASS file (#8932.1). This patch should take less than 5 minutes to install. It is not necessary to disable any options. In order to support a back out methodology step 'a' of the Installation Instructions below must be performed. Note: The following is a list of REQUIRED builds for HDI*1.0*18. KIDS will not allow the installation of this patch without the prior installation of them. HDI*1.0*6 XU*8.0*677 Installation Instructions: -------------------------- 1. Choose the PackMan message containing this patch. 2. Choose the INSTALL/CHECK MESSAGE PackMan option. 3. From the Kernel Installation and Distribution System Menu, select the Installation Menu. From this menu, you may elect to use the following options. When prompted for the INSTALL NAME enter the patch #(ex. HDI*1.0*18): a. Backup a Transport Global - This option will create a backup message of any routines exported with this patch. It will not backup any other changes such as DDs or templates. b. Compare Transport Global to Current System - This option will (allow you to view all changes that will be made when this patch is installed. It compares all components of this patch routines, DDs, templates, etc.). c. Verify Checksums in Transport Global - This option will allow you to ensure the integrity of the routines that are in the transport global. 4. From the Installation Menu, select the Install Package(s) option and choose the patch to install. 5. When prompted 'Want KIDS to Rebuild Menu Trees Upon Completion of Install? NO//' 6. When prompted 'Want KIDS to INHIBIT LOGONs during the install? NO//' 7. When prompted 'Want to DISABLE Scheduled Options, Menu Options, and Protocols? NO//' 8. Enter 'RML' Enter 'Classic' Enter the basket that the backup message was saved to. Enter '?' to display the messages in the basket. Select the message whose subject line is the same as the backup subject line. Enter '^' at the (Type to continue or '^' to exit:) prompt. Enter 'X' at the (Enter message action (in LAB basket): Ignore) prompt. Enter '6' at the (Select PackMan function:) prompt. Enter 'YES' at the (Do you really want to do this? NO) prompt Enter 'NO' at the (Shall I preserve the routines on disk in a separate back-up message? YES) prompt. The system will display an unloading message for each routine that is in the PACKMAN Backup. Once the routines are restored: Enter '^' at the (Enter message action (in LAB basket): Ignore) prompt.
