The intent of this effort is to provide the detailed groundwork necessary for industry-wide interoperability. The objective of this process is to enable the most user friendly interface as possible in the implementation of the native standardization along with all of the activities required to operationalize the change within the VistA environment and the associated terminology consuming applications. This patch adds the ability to collect Standards Development Organization (SDO) codes based on items stored in the ORDERABLE ITEMS File (101.43) for the Laboratory area. INTEGRATION CONTROL REGISTRATIONS (ICR's) Used for this effort. ICR NAME --- ---- 6894 HDI COLLECT SDOS 6895 HDI READ ORDERABLE ITEMS File (#101.43) 6901 HDI READ LABORATORY SERVICE LABORATORY TEST FILE (#60) 6902 HDI READ MASTER LABORATORY TEST FILE (#66.3) 5812 MAX LINES SEND/RECEIVE (#4.3) The effort has three distinct sections: 1) The creation of a general use Application Program Interface (API). This API will allow anyone who can call an API the ability to collect SDO Codes for Laboratory items that are associated to the ORDERABLE ITEMS File (#101.43) This option is associated to ICR 6894. Utilization will require being added as a subscriber to the ICR. 2) A VistA lookup option that will allow users of VistA to lookup Laboratory SDO Codes that are associated to the ORDERABLE ITEMS File (#101.43). This option will allow users to lookup a single Laboratory Orderable Item, Orderable Items by partial match to the orderable item name for Laboratory, or get ALL of orderable items SDO Codes for Laboratory. The user will be able to select an output device and also be able to select a pre-defined output format. The formats are: XML style, standard report format, or TAB delimited export format. *********************************************************************** * The user, following their facilities normal request method, would * * need to have this option: 'HDI REQUEST SDO [HDISDO REQUEST SDO]' * * added to their working menu. * *********************************************************************** 3) A HDI server side mailman function. The user, using their outlook e-mail, may receive a TAB delimited text file containing all the orderable items and their associated SDO Codes for Laboratory.
