The goal of this enhancement is to increase timeliness and collections of billable Non-Veterans Affairs (VA) care services. Enhancements to the existing VistA IB and AR software applications would allow for increased efficiency in workflow processes leading to best practices that would ultimately be reflected in improved customer service to our Veteran population. In order to meet these goals, this patch: 1. Modifies the Enter/Edit Billing Information option [IB EDIT BILLING INFO] to allow Procedures attached to a Patient Treatment File (PTF) record that occurred prior to the date of admission to be added to the 3rd Party Insurance Bill. 2. Adds a new field to the BILL/CLAIMS file (#399), called INITIAL DATE OF SERVICE. This field will contain the Initial Date of Service Data stored in the PTF record for a 3rd Party Insurance Bill. 3. Updates the COMPACT Cancellation reason in the IB CHARGE REMOVE REASON file (#350.3) to allow Urgent Care Visit information to be tracked instead of removed when cancelling an Urgent Care copayment using the COMPACT cancellation reason.
