VistA was modified to allow insurance verification staff members to link different "Blue" insurance companies to the local "Blue" payer and still have auto-update process multiple "Blue" entries with a single electronic Insurance Verification (eIV) 271 response. 2. VistA was modified so that the REQUEST ELECTRONIC INSURANCE INQUIRY [IBCNE REQUEST INQUIRY] option would allow the resulting buffer entry to auto-update if the default Service Type Code (STC) is selected during creation. 3. VistA was modified to add a prompt that allows a user to narrow down the list of available payers to select from in the PAYER EDIT [IBCNE PAYER EDIT] option so a user can search existing payers. 4. VistA was modified so that the NUMBER RETRIES field (#350.9,51.06) in the IB SITE PARAMETERS FILE (#350.9) would be controlled by the Financial Service Center (FSC) via a Health Level Seven (HL7) message. 5. VistA was modified to add a new coverage category to the PLAN LIMITATION CATEGORY file (#355.31) for VISION to identify what policies cover vision and which do not to streamline billing actions. 6. The GENERATE INSURANCE COMPANY LISTINGS report was modified to be more user friendly including case insensitive searches and enhanced address searches. It is no longer truncating the "Reimburse" column when running to Excel. 7. VistA was modified to expire all active policies using the patient's actual DATE OF DEATH field (#2,.351) that is entered in VistA registration for a patient. 8. VistA was modified to update the help text for the Ins. Verification screen under the MCCR SITE PARAMETERS [IBJ MCCR SITE PARAMETERS] option so that the user can understand what each action does. INC23737958: Undefined error SEARCH+6^VALM40 for ^TMP("PT. INS EB DATA") Problem: -------- VistA crashes and kicks the user out of VistA for patients under certain circumstances. While running the option "Patient Insurance Info View/Edit" or "Process Insurance Buffer", if the user goes into Expand Benefits to review eligibility benefit information and selects the action "SL" (search list), the system could kick the user out if the payer returned a long note/comment. This is an infrequent occurrence as it only has the potential to occur if the user searches eligibility benefits for certain information using the "SL" action. Resolution: ----------- VistA was modified to define the missing entry in ^TMP("IBCNSC",$J) when building the display's temp global. 2. INC24147642: Value Code A9 (Patient Height) and Value Code D5 (Last KT/V Reading) Problem: -------- Since the installation of Patch IB*2.0*718, the VistA billing clerks were periodically prevented from properly entering the full data value for the following data elements on Institutional billing screen 4 section 8 for Inpatient claims and billing screen 5 section 9 for Outpatient claims. This problem was usually encountered with dialysis claims. - Value Code 48 (Hemoglobin Reading) - Value Code 49 (Hematocrit Reading) - Value Code A8 (Patient Weight) - Value Code A9 (Patient Height) - Value Code D5 (Last KT/V Reading) - Value Code 54 (Newborn Birth Weight in Grams) Resolution: ----------- The routine IBCVC that was restricting the allowable range of values for the fields identified above, was modified to correct the problem.
