These values need to be updated in the associated billing files for accurate and legal billing. The purpose of this patch is to fix the Basic Pension Threshold rates for Calendar Year 2025. Patch IB*2.0*808 was given bad rate information and the current rate BASE RATE FOR VETERAN needs updating. Resolution: ----------- Post Install routine IB20P818, will update of the basic pension thresholds rate for BASE RATE FOR VETERAN that was incorrect in IB*2.0*808. If a site already entered the values manually, the record will be overwritten with the national update. The new pension rates for Calendar Year 2025 (with an effective date of 12/1/24) are defined in VHA FACT SHEET titled MEANS TEST AND GEOGRAPHIC- BASED MEANS TEST AND MAXIMUM ANNUAL RATES OF PENSION FOR CALENDAR YEAR 2025 as: * $16,965 for a single veteran without dependents TECHNICAL: ---------- BILLING THRESHOLDS file (#354.3) is updated with a new record. Documentation Title File Name --------------------------------------------------------------------- N/A Patch Installation: Pre/Post Installation Overview: ------------------------------- Pre-Installation Instructions: ------------------------------ This patch may be installed with users on the system, although it is recommended that it be installed during non-peak hours to minimize potential disruption to users. This patch should take less than 5 minutes to install. Installation Instructions: -------------------------- 1. The release is provided using PackMan, choose the PackMan message containing this build. Then select the INSTALL/CHECK MESSAGE PackMan option to load the build. If this release is provided using a Host file, use the Load a Distribution option contained on the Kernel Installation and Distribution System Menu to load the Host file. 2. From the Kernel Installation & Distribution System menu [XPD MAIN], select the Installation menu. From this menu, A. Select the Verify Checksums in Transport Global option to confirm the integrity of the routines that are in the transport global. When prompted for the INSTALL NAME enter the patch or build name IB*2.0*818. NOTE: Using will not bring up a Multi-Package build even if it was loaded immediately before this step. It will only bring up the last patch in the build. B. Select the Backup a Transport Global option to create a backup message. You must use this option and specify what to backup; the entire Build or just Routines. The backup message can be used to restore the routines and components of the build to the pre-patch condition. i. At the Installation option menu, select Backup a Transport Global ii. At the Select INSTALL NAME prompt, enter your build IB*2.0*818 iii. When prompted for the following, enter "R" for Routines or "B" for Build. Select one of the following: B Build R Routines Enter response: Build iv. When prompted "Do you wish to secure your message? NO//", press and take the default response of "NO". v. When prompted with, "Send mail to: Last name, First Name", press to take default recipient. Add any additional recipients. vi. When prompted with "Select basket to send to: IN//", press and take the default IN mailbox or select a different mailbox. C. You may also elect to use the following options: i. Print Transport Global - This option will allow you to view the components of the KIDS build. ii. Compare Transport Global to Current System - This option will allow you to view all changes that will be made when this patch is installed. It compares all of the components of this patch, such as routines, DDs, templates, etc. D. Select the Install Package(s) option and choose the patch to install, IB*2.0*818 i. The BILLING EXEMPTIONS file (#354.1) will be checked for medication co-payment exemptions based on prior thresholds. If -- and only if -- there are exemptions, you will be prompted to UPDATE AND PRINT the exemptions report. NOTE: the report is not new and is intended only as an FYI for billing staff. Select Action: (P/U): Update & Print// Press to accept the default "Update & Print" Select Device: You must enter a print device or a P-MESS device to send a to send a Mailman Message. You MUST choose a valid device or the installation will be aborted. NOTE: The exemption report contains full patient names and SSNs. Be sure to select a device in a secure area and retrieve the output immediately. You need not queue the report since the installation process will queue it automatically. ii. Installation Verification: -------------------------- Back-out/Rollback Strategy: --------------------------- In the event that the patch installer decides to back-out this patch, the patch installer should log a Service Now ticket or contact the Enterprise Service Desk (ESD) at 855-673-4357. Backout or rollback of the software will be a joint decision between the development team, VA site/region personnel and other appropriate VA personnel and will require their concurrence. Due to the complexity of this patch, it is not recommended for back-out. In the event that an installer decides to back out this patch, the patch installer should contact the Enterprise Service Desk (ESD) to submit a help desk ticket to the PLM.HEALTH.HealthFinancial group for referral to Sustainment. The sustainment team will need to issue a follow-on patch in order to comprehensively back-out this patch and restore the system to a functioning state.
