Previously this interface utilized Data Access Service (DAS) as the middleware, but updates will be made to use Veterans Data Integration and Federation (VDIF) to facilitate the communication between VistA and Oracle Health. Additions to the existing interface include: - An APPLICATION ACKNOWLEDGEMENT (ACK) has been added to confirm delivery and processing of Update (DFT) HL7 messages to remote VistA Treating Facilities. Application Errors will be reported back to the VistA system triggering the DFT, Veterans Data Integration and Federation (VDIF), for action. -Addition of the CLOCK VERSION (#17) and SYNC ERROR (#18) fields in the MEANS TEST BILLING CLOCK (#351) file to assist with data validation and message control. -Addition of CLOCK VERSION (#11) field in the MEANS TEST BILLING CLOCK VERIFY (#351.3) file to provide context for data received from remote facilities from Query Responses (DSR's). -Updates to the Query (QRY) and Query Response (DSR) messages to include additional Billing Clock data to facilitate identification of relevant Billing Clocks and enhanced validation logic to identify corrupt clocks. -Updates to the Update (DFT) logic to maintain versioning for the CLOCK VERSION (#17) field. -Addition of the IB PATIENT ACCUMULATOR mail group to receive notifications when Copy Accumulator errors occur or when corrupt data is identified. Message will include Billing Clock details and likely require action to resolve communication or data issues reported in the error. In many cases, these events will require input/action from both Information Technology (IT) and Billing resources. Where possible, it is recommended, recipients use outlook emails as their primary source of communication. VERIFY Connectivity Post Configuration --------------------------------------- On the morning of August 27th, 2025, you will need to test it to ensure connectivity to VDIF. Please repeat the steps below for the following Logical Links: IBECEC-ACK IBECEC-DFT IBECEC-DSR IBECEC-QRY *Note: Be aware this will only function in production. As test systems are not connected to VDIF unless specifically configured to do so. In VistA use the HL7 Main Menu, Filer and Link Management Options, Ping, HLO options. Follow the directions below to ensure the Logical Link connects to VDIF. HL MAIN MENU HL7 Main Menu Event monitoring menu ... Systems Link Monitor Filer and Link Management Options ...
