This is to avoid any unexpected issues. * ************************************************************************** The purpose of this patch is to meet the requirements of the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Health Finance Development, Security, and Operations (DevSecOps) Medical Care Collection Fund (MCCF) project. 1. Added a generic non-human proxy user (IB,BUFFER CLEANUP) to the NEW PERSON File (#200) to do simple routine work in the INSURANCE VERIFICATION PROCESSOR file (#355.33). 2. Added a new flag 'P' to the 'Process Insurance Buffer' [IBCN INSURANCE BUFFER PROCESS], to indicate potential new policies. A user may sort the data displayed based on this flag. 3. Reformatted the 'eIV Response Report' [IBCNE IIV RESPONSE REPORT] for readability. The report was also modified to include additional fields from the electronic Insurance Verification (eIV) 271 payer response. 4. Modified VistA so that each night at 10:00 p.m. local time a process will run to automatically reject duplicate buffer records from the INSURANCE VERIFICATION PROCESSOR file (#355.33). Duplicates are based on same insurance company, patient, group number, and subscriber ID. When a duplicate is found, the oldest record will be retained, with the most recent record being rejected. The site-controlled field BUFFER CLEANUP ENABLED (#350.9, 54.03) determines whether duplicate records will be rejected that night or not. Any duplicate record that should be rejected will be skipped (not rejected, left alone) if there is an image associated with that buffer record according to the new field ASSOCIATED IMAGE (#355.33, .19). 5. The Insurance Verification section of the Integrated Billing site parameters was modified to include two new fields. The field BUFFER CLEANUP ENABLED (#350.9, 54.03) is controlled by the users at the site. The other field BUFFER CLEANUP LAST RUN (#350.9, 54.04) is for display purposes only. 6. The eIV Auto Update process was enhanced to automatically load active Medicare (WNR) Part A, Part B, or both policies based on the payer's response. This only occurs under certain conditions. The patient may not have any active policies on file. In addition, the patient may not have any record of "Medicare (WNR)" (active or expired policies) on file. The payer's response must provide an effective date for each active Medicare policy (Part A, Part B, or both) it includes in the payer response.
