This * * is to avoid any unexpected issues. * ************************************************************************** The purpose of this patch is to meet the requirements of the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Health Finance Development, Security, and Operations (DevSecOps) Medical Care Collection Fund (MCCF) project. 1. Modified VistA option Process Insurance Buffer [IBCN INSURANCE BUFFER PROCESS] to improve the method of adding and updating the current coverage limitation associated with each entry. The buffer software utilizes a ListMan method of maintaining coverage limitation. Not only does this improve the user experience, but it also allows the user to define the limitation for all coverage categories that are defined in VistA. 2. The new Patient Policy Autoload Report [IBCNE PAT POL AUTOLOAD RPT] has been added to VistA. It provides data regarding patient Medicare policies that have been auto loaded by the eIV Auto Load Process. 3. Increased the number of characters a single patient policy comment can contain from 245 to 900 characters. 4. Within the Insurance Verification section of the MCCR Site Parameter Display/Edit [IBJ MCCR SITE PARAMETERS] option, the 'E1 Transactions Enabled' field was moved from the General Parameters (editable) section to the eIV Parameters (non-editable) section. Therefore, the field is no longer maintained by the users using the action 'General Parameters'. This field is now maintained by Financial Services Center (FSC). 5. There is a background process that automatically creates buffer entries for policies with a future effective date when that effective date equals TODAY. A new field FUTURE EFFECT DATE PROCESSING (#54.06) was added to the IB SITE PARAMETERS file (#350.9). This field will determine whether the system automatically creates a buffer entry when a future effective date is reached for verification to ensure if a policy is in effect. This field was added to the Insurance Verification section of the MCCR Site Parameter Display/Edit [IBJ MCCR SITE PARAMETERS] option under the General Parameters (editable) section. 6. Using the Patient Insurance Info View/Edit [IBCN PATIENT INSURANCE] option, if a user reviewed a policy's associated eligibility data that was last verified many years ago (i.e. 2014) sometimes an error occurred that would kick the user out of VistA. Therefore, VistA was modified to prevent an error that occurred when there was eligibility benefit data but the EB Display Data (#2.312, 8.03) field was not populated.
