This patch does not alter or modify any VistA Blood Bank software design safeguards or safety critical elements functions. RISK ANALYSIS: Changes made by patch KMP*4.0*2 have no adverse effect on Blood Bank software functionality, therefore RISK is none. New Service Requests (NSRs): ---------------------------- N/A Patient Safety Issues (PSIs): ----------------------------- N/A Defect Tracking System Ticket(s) & Overview: ---------------------------- N/A Problem 1: -------- Due to a migration from Cache using journaling to IRIS using mirroring the ^KMPTMP global is now included in the journal files. This is a temporary global that should not be journaled. In order to map this global locally the VistA Business Event and Coversheet Monitors must be adjusted to run independently on each front and back end node. Resolution 1: ------------- Enable the VistA Business Event and Coversheet Monitors to run on each node storing and sending data per each node. Additionally, store the data saved for resend for each VistA System Monitor using the node as a subscript. Problem 2: --------- On a failover from the primary backend node to the failover node the classes on the failover node may not exist as %SYS is not mirrored. The monitors will not start running on the primary node until the next day. Resolution 2: ------------- Create a function that will check for the existence of the %SYS classes. If they do not exist it will create them. Following this, any monitor that is set to "ON" will be started, such that there will not be a gap in metric collection. Problem 3: ---------- There is a platform support need to monitor the time synchronization between VistA Front End servers and their associated Back End server. Resolution 3: ------------ Add the DB TimeCheck code that runs on system startup to the regular VTCM collection such that DB time drift can be monitored in real time. Lovell Federal Health Care Center Connecticut HCS Software and Documentation Retrieval Instructions: -------------------------------------------------- The software for this patch is being released in a PackMan message. Updated documentation can be found on the VA Software Documentation Library at: https://www.domain.ext/vdl/. Documentation can also be obtained at https://download.vista.domain.ext/index.html/SOFTWARE. Documentation Title File Name -------------------------------------- Technical Manual kmp_4_2_tm.pdf User Manual kmp_4_2_um.pdf Patch Installation: Pre/Post Installation Overview: ------------------------------ The Post Installation routine will delete any existing legacy VSM TaskMan tasks and TaskMan scheduling data from the VSM CONFIGURATION file (8969) as these are no longer needed. Pre-Installation Instruction: ----------------------------- This patch can be queued for installation. TaskMan does not have to be stopped, Health Level 7 (HL7) filers do not need to be stopped, the current VistA System Monitors do not need to be stopped, and users may be on the system. The patch should be installed during non-peak hours to minimize potential for disruption to users. This patch should take less than 10 minutes to install. NOTE: You will see the following question: "This Patch is for Version 4, you are running Version 1. Do you want to continue?" Answer "YES". This patch is fixing the Version field in the Package file. Installation Instructions: -------------------------- 1. Choose the PackMan message containing this build. Then select the INSTALL/CHECK MESSAGE PackMan option to load the build. 2. From the Kernel Installation and Distribution System Menu, select the Installation Menu. From this menu, A. Select the Verify Checksums in Transport Global option to confirm the integrity of the routines that are in the transport global. When prompted for the INSTALL NAME enter the patch or build name. (KMP*4.0*2) NOTE: Using will not bring up a Multi-Package build even if it was loaded immediately before this step. It will only bring up the last patch in the build. B. Select the Backup a Transport Global option to create a backup message. You must use this option for each patch contained in the Host File. For each patch you can specify what to backup; the entire Build or just Routines. The backup message can be used to restore just the routines or everything that will restore your system to pre-patch condition. C. You may also elect to use the following options: i. Print Transport Global - This option will allow you to view the components of the KIDS build. ii. Compare Transport Global to Current System - This option will allow you to view all changes that will be made when this patch is installed. It compares all of the components of this patch, such as routines, DDs, templates, etc. D. Select the Install Package(s) option and choose the patch to install. (KMP*4.0*2) i. If prompted 'Want KIDS to Rebuild Menu Trees Upon Completion of Install? NO//', answer . ii. When prompted 'Want KIDS to INHIBIT LOGONs during the install? NO//', answer . iii. When prompted 'Want to DISABLE Scheduled Options, Menu Options, and Protocols? NO//', answer . Post-Installation Instructions: ------------------------------ There are no Post-Installation actions. Back-Out/Roll Back Plan: ------------------------ Inform CPE of the problem. Email: VA IT EPMO VistA System Monitor . The following steps can be taken to restore previous state. 1) Restore routines from backup message saved during step 2B above.
