An atomic test which is a component of a panel might appear on the "Incomplete test status report" even though the test is verified. 2. A lab panel might appear on the "Incomplete test status report" even though all components have been verified. 3. If a test is marked as "not performed", the LRVR result verification option might delete the "not performed" status of the test. EFFECT ON BLOOD BANK FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Patch LR*5.2*524 does not alter or modify any software design safeguards or safety critical elements functions. RISK ANALYSIS: Changes made by patch LR*5.2*524 have no adverse effect on Blood Bank software functionality, therefore RISK is none. VALIDATION REQUIREMENTS BY OPTION: Because of the nature of the changes made, no specific validation requirements exist as a result of installation of this patch Participating Test Sites: ========================= New Mexico VA HCS System (Albuquerque) Northport VA Medical Center Defect Tracking System Ticket(s) & Overview: ============================================ 1. INC5778287: Verified atomic test appears on "Incomplete test status report" Problem: ------- An atomic test which is a panel component might appear on the "Incomplete test status report" even though the test contains a verified result. This can occur if tests on the same accession which are not components of the panel were previously verified when "ALL" was specified at the "TEST" prompt in the LRENTER option. The panel is verified later, and the panel is specified at the "TEST" prompt instead of "ALL". Resolution: ---------- Modify routine LRVER3A to ensure that an atomic test has a "complete" status in the ACCESSION (#68) file if a result has been verified. Routine: LRVER3A 2. INC5812600: Verified panel appears on "Incomplete test status report" Problem: ------- A panel might appear on the "Incomplete test status report" even though all components of the panel have been verified. This can occur if the panel is a component of another panel, and other components on that panel have been verified. If the panel is specified during a later result verification session, the components of the panel will be marked as "complete" in the ACCESSION (#68) file but not the panel itself. Also, it has been requested that a panel be marked as "complete" in the ACCESSION (#68) file if any components of a panel are verified. The pending required atomic tests will then display on the "Incomplete test status report", but not the panel itself. Resolution: ---------- Modify routine LRVER3A to ensure that a panel is set as "complete" in the ACCESSION (#68) file if any required components of the panel are verified. Routine: LRVER3A 3. INC6732191: LRVR result verification deletion of "not performed" status Problem: ------- An atomic test or panel which has been marked as "not performed" might lose the "not performed" status after an LRVR ("Enter/verify data (auto instrument)") result verification session. This will occur if: (1) a pending test on the same accession is verified using option LRVR after a panel test on the accession has been marked "not performed"; or (2) a panel is partially verified, an atomic test on the same accession and panel is then marked "not performed", and lastly, another panel component on the same accession is verified using option LRVR. Resolution: ---------- Modify routines LRVER3A and LRVR1 so that "not performed" statuses of tests are not deleted. Routines: LRVER3A, LRVR1 Note: ==== The CPRS status might remain at "active" instead of changing to "complete" for scenarios in which: 1. Panels composed of panels are ordered (i.e. a "super panel"). One or more atomic tests are result verified, one or more atomic are deleted from the super using option LRTSTOUT, and then the remaining atomic tests are result verified. 2. A super panel and an atomic test which is included in the super panel are ordered together. The atomic test is canceled. The super panel is result verified. (This scenario does not always cause the CPRS status for the super panel to remain at "active". It may depend on timing, internal entry numbers of the tests, etc.) Installation Instructions: ========================== The install time for this patch is less than 2 minutes. This patch can be installed when Laboratory users are on the system. NOTE: Kernel patches must be current on the target system to avoid problems loading and/or installing this patch. 1. Use the 'INSTALL/CHECK MESSAGE' option of the PackMan menu. This option will load the KIDS patch onto your system. 2. The patch has now been loaded into a Transport global on your system. You now need to use KIDS to install the transport global. 3. On the 'Kernel Installation & Distribution System' Menu (KIDS), select the 'Installation' menu. 4. Use the 'Verify Checksum in Transport Global' option and verify that all routines have the correct checksums. 5. On the KIDS menu, under the 'Installation' menu, use the following options: Print Transport Global Compare Transport Global to Current System Backup a Transport Global To preserve a copy of the routines exported in this patch prior to installation, you should use the 'Backup a Transport Global' option at this time. You may also compare the routines in your production account to the routines in the patch by using the 'Compare a Transport Global to Current System' option. 6. Use the 'Install Package(s)' option under the 'Installation' Menu and select the package 'LR*5.2*524'. If prompted 'Want KIDS to INHIBIT LOGONs during the install? YES//, choose 'NO'. If prompted 'Want to DISABLE Scheduled Options, Menu Options, and Protocols? YES//', choose 'NO'. Back-out/Rollback Strategy: -------------------------- In the event of a catastrophic failure, the Facility CIO may make the decision to back-out the patch. It is imperative that you have performed a backup of the routine included in this patch prior to installation. The back-out plan is to restore the routine from the backup created. No data was modified by this patch installation and, therefore, no rollback strategy is required. To verify the back-out completed successfully, ensure the checksum matches the pre-patch checksum from the patch description.
