Defect Tracking System Ticket(s) & Overview: 1. INC16800186: CPRS Orderable Items Defined for Non-Existent Lab Tests Problem: -------- If a user starts defining a new Laboratory test and enters an "^" early in the process to exit, the test will be deleted from the LABORATORY TEST (#60) file. However, an entry remains in the ORDERABLE ITEMS (#101.43) file which points to the non-existent Laboratory test. Resolution: ----------- (a) Modify routine LR7OV0 so that a MailMan message is sent to members of the LMI and OR CACS MailMan groups if a test is deleted from the LABORATORY TEST (#60) file after a user discontinues the process of defining a new test. The message states that the erroneous entry exists in the ORDERABLE ITEMS (#101.43) file. Suggested corrective action is included in the MailMan message. (It is not advisable to delete the erroneous entry in the ORDERABLE ITEMS (#101.43) file because of possible downstream effects.) Example MailMan message: Subj: ATTENTION: Lab Test Deleted [#153601] 03/23/21@18:21 4 lines From: ORDERABLE ITEMS UPDATE TASK In 'IN' basket. Page 1 *New* --------------------------------------------------------------------- Lab test IEN: 5638 (XYZNEWTEST) has been deleted, but an orderable item (IEN: 7820) exists in the ORDERABLE ITEMS (#101.43) file. The orderable item should be edited to prefix the name with "ZZ" and make sure there is a date in the INACTIVATED (#.1) field. Enter message action (in IN basket): Ignore// (b) Add logic to the "NIGHTLY CLEANUP" task to search the ORDERABLE ITEMS (#101.43) file for pointers to non-existent Laboratory tests. If any such entries are found with names not prefixed with "ZZ" and/or no entry in the INACTIVATED (#.1) field, a MailMan message is sent to members of the LMI and OR CACS MailMan groups. Suggested corrective action is included in the MailMan message along with the names of the orderable items. Routines LRNIGHT and LRWU9A contain the modifications. Example MailMan message: Subj: ORDERABLE ITEMS POINTING TO NON-EXISTENT LAB TESTS [#317288] 03/24/21@13:19 34 lines From: NIGHTLY TASK CLEANUP In 'IN' basket. Page 1 *New* ------------------------------------------------------------------- The NIGHTLY CLEANUP task found 3 entries in the ORDERABLE ITEMS (#101.43) file of concern that reference non-existent Laboratory tests. Listed below are such entries which have a name not prefixed with "ZZ" and/or no date in the INACTIVATED (#.1) field. The following should be edited in the ORDERABLE ITEMS (#101.43) file so the name is prefixed with "ZZ" and a date entered into the INACTIVATED (#.1) field. Orderable Item/IEN Non-Existent Laboratory Test IEN -------------------------- -------------------------------- !URINE (#7702) 5543 ABCNEWTEST (#7819) 5637 KAM TEST (#7710) 5547 (c) Add a post-install routine to this patch which will perform the same logic as noted for the "NIGHTLY CLEANUP" task. A MailMan message is sent to the patch installer as well as members of the LMI and OR CACS MailMan groups. If no entries of concern are found, the message states as such. If entries were found, the MailMan message will contain the names of the orderable items along with suggested corrective action. (The post-install routine will not be automatically deleted after patch install since it needs to be tasked. A future patch will delete the routine.) Example MailMan message - No issues found: Subj: LR*5.2*543 Post-Install [#317304] 03/24/21@13:58 3 lines From: LR*5.2*543 Post-Install In 'IN' basket. INC16819236: Canceled Microbiology Tests Displayed as Pending Problem: -------- If a user enters Microbiology Results Entry, realizes the accession needs to be canceled, and then cancels the accession, the accession will display as pending on the "Incomplete test status report" and the "Long form accession list for Microbiology". Resolution: ----------- Modify routines LRWRKINC and LRWRKLST to check the ACCESSION (#68) file as to whether the test has been marked as "not performed". Any "not performed" tests will not display with a pending status on the "Incomplete test status report" and the "Long form accession list for Microbiology". When prompted 'Want to DISABLE Scheduled Options, Menu Options, and Protocols? NO//', answer NO. Back-out/Roll Back Plan: ------------------------ Back-out will be done only with the concurrence and participation of development team and appropriate VA site/region personnel. The decision to back-out or rollback software will be a joint decision between development team, VA site/region personnel and other appropriate VA personnel. Prior to installing an updated KIDS package, the site/region should have saved a backup of the routines in a mail message using the Backup a Transport Global [XPD BACKUP] menu option (this is done at time of install). The message containing the backed-up routines can be loaded with the "Xtract PackMan" function at the Message Action prompt. The Packman function "INSTALL/CHECK MESSAGE" is then used to install the backed up routines onto the VistA System. The back-out plan is to restore the routines from the backup created. Validation of Back-out Procedure: --------------------------------- The Back-out Procedure can be verified by printing the first 2 lines of the routines contained in this patch using the option First Line Routine Print [XU FIRST LINE PRINT]. Once the routines contained in the LR*5.2*543 patch have been backed out, the first two lines of the routines will no longer contain the designation of this patch in the patch list section on line 2. Routine Information: ==================== The second line of each of these routines now looks like: ;;5.2;LAB SERVICE;**[Patch List]**;Sep 27, 1994;Build 7 The checksums below are new checksums, and can be checked with CHECK1^XTSUMBLD.
