============================================================================= Run Date: MAR 31, 2003 Designation: MAG*3*17 Package : MAG - IMAGING Priority: Mandatory Version : 3 SEQ #6 Status: Released Compliance Date: MAY 01, 2003 ============================================================================= Subject: Image Index Conversion Category: - Informational - Routine - Data Dictionary - Input Template - Other Description: ============ VistA Imaging patch MAG*3*17 is the first phase for a future patch that will allow sorting and filtering on images. Patch will convert the present Imaging file (#2005) by adding new 'indexes' to new key fields created by this patch. The new index fields will ensure that images are categorized in a consistent manner from site to site. Future search and filter capabilities, to be introduced in Patch MAG*3*8, will rely on the fields introduced and populated in Patch 17. For detailed patch information and installation instructions, review the MAG3_0P17 Patch Description posted on the Imaging web page at http:/vaww.va.gov/Imaging/3.0patches.htm. This patch includes the following files: MAG30P17.KID - Kernel Installation & Distribution System (KIDS) package to be installed on VistA hospital database. MAG30P17MAP.TXT - This file is the mapping scheme to be used for converting the present field values with predefined values for the new 'index' fields. This file will be read into the database and will create a working global that is editable on site during the conversion. MAG30P71MAP.XLS - A spreadsheet presentation of the data in file MAG30P17MAP.TXT. This file will not be copied to the VistA server (hospital) but is available for your review. MAG3_0P17 Patch Description.pdf - Patch description and installation instructions. Attention: 1) It is essentioal that users review the MAG3_0P17 Patch Description document before implementing this patch. The Image Index Conversion Tool chapter explains the indexing to take effect on the Imaging files. Please review this section of the documentation thoroughly. 2) The patch 17 conversion process will need to be coordinated by a site's IRM personnel, and will need to be evaluated and approved by a site's Clinical ADPac. Additional clinical staff may also need to be consulted eto evaluate the appropriateness of mapping results. To receive this patch, a site must have their Site Agreement on file with and approved by the VistA Imaging Group. Once the required documents are received and approved, software will be available on the Imaging FTP directory under your site's folder.
