Since then it has expanded to include more than just Mental Health so it is now called Medical Health eScreening (eScreening). This web application, is located at VA Enterprise Cloud Amazon Web Service (AWS), was a VHA innovation solution designed to provide a wide variety of clinical settings with the ability to automate collection and scoring of screening instruments in order to improve efficiency in treating patients. eScreening accelerates the process of documenting Veteran's self-assessments using web-based forms that can be completed remotely or on-site in advance of a medical appointment. eScreening has 2-way VistA/CPRS communication and includes robust features that improves the Veteran experience and allow clinicians to practice at the top of their license. The system: - assigns needed health screens - submits Veteran responses into CPRS to satisfy clinical reminders and generate a clinical note for review and signature. - employs real-time scoring of screens and staff notification of high-risk veterans for same-day care - generates a personalized feedback sheet for each Veteran - allows staff and Veterans to monitor health symptoms over-time - includes a robust forms editor that allows the system to be flexible to fit any clinic eScreening uses VistALink to call existing Remote Procedure Calls (RPCs) to retrieve and send information to VistA. The purpose of this patch is to provide instructions for creating a MHE eScreening proxy user for VistALink. This patch includes options and routine. The option MHE RPCS CONTEXT contains RPCs used by eScreening application to communicate with CPRS and Mental Health Assistant (MHA). Java code uses VistaLink broker to import data and save TIU note created from eScreening to CPRS. The routine MHERPC will create an application proxy user MHEAPPLICATION PROXY from Connector proxy. This option will be used to authenticate eScreening application and allow user to login.
