Subject: MASTER VETERAN INDEX VISTA ENHANCEMENT - PREFERRED NAME
Category:
- Routine
- Enhancement (Mandatory)
Description:
============
NOTE: Master Patient Index (MPI) enhancements are being distributed in
two VistA namespaces: DG and MPIF.
Patches DG*5.3*1162 and MPIF*1.0*81 can be installed in any order
as there are no direct dependencies between them requiring a
specific install sequence.
To prevent legacy systems ending up as Treating Facilities,
MPIF* patches should NOT be installed on legacy systems or
the FORUM CLAIMS system (since it is NOT a Veterans Affair
Medical Center (VAMC) VistA system).
MPIF*1.0*79 is the only required build for patch MPIF*1.0*81.
NOTE: Do NOT install MPIF*1.0*81 on legacy sites or on the FORUM
CLAIMS system.
The following enhancement exported in this patch was requested by the
Healthcare Identity Management (HC IdM) business office to allow
Preferred Name to be added through the Register a Patient menu option
when pulling in the patient's information using the enterprise search
query.
Enhancement
To support the addition of Preferred Name on a new patient record that
is created through the execution of the enterprise query search on the
Register a Patient [DG REGISTER PATIENT] menu option related to patch
DG*5.3*1162, the XML parser has been enhanced to now also extract the
PREFERRED NAME value from the enterprise search query Extensible Markup
Language (XML) / Service Provisioning Markup Language (SPML) results.
FRED
In addition, the Preferred Name information will now also be displayed
when requesting to view any patient record information in the list that
were returned from the enterprise query search results for selection
that have met the potential match criteria for addition to the PATIENT
file (#2).
