INC0672637 - Error on Military Status field. Problem: -------- In the Nursing package when editing a nursing staff record and typing a question mark at the "MILITARY STATUS" prompt, the user gets a hard error: 10+8^DICQ1 *X. Resolution: ----------- The Military Status field has screen code to transform the input to uppercase. This code was modified to check for a null input. The screen code was changed from: X:$D(^%ZOSF("UPPERCASE")) "N Y X ^%ZOSF(""UPPERCASE"") S X=Y Q" to: I $D(^%ZOSF("UPPERCASE")),$D(X) X "N Y X ^%ZOSF(""UPPERCASE"") S X=Y Q" The data in the field is not affected by the DD and does not need to be converted. This patch can be queued for installation. The install time for this patch is less than 2 minutes. NOTE: Kernel patches must be current on the target system to avoid problems loading and/or installing this patch. Installation Instructions: -------------------------- 1. Choose the PackMan message containing this patch. 2. Choose the INSTALL/CHECK MESSAGE PackMan option to load the KIDS patch onto your system. 3. From the Kernel Installation & Distribution System Menu (KIDS), select the Installation Menu. 4. From this menu, you may elect to use the following option. When prompted for the INSTALL NAME enter the patch NUR*4.0*47: a. Print Transport Global - This option will allow you to print only a summary of the patch, to print a summary of the patch and the routines in the transport global, or to print only the routines in the transport global. b. Compare Transport Global to Current System - This option will allow you to view all changes that will be made when this patch is installed. It compares all components of this patch (routines, DDs, templates, etc.). No routines are in this patch so no backup is needed. 5. From the Installation Menu, select the Install Package(s) option and choose the patch to install. 6. When prompted 'Want KIDS to INHIBIT LOGONs during the install? NO//, respond 'NO'. 7. When prompted 'Want to DISABLE Scheduled Options, Menu Options, And Protocols? NO//', respond 'NO'. Back-out/Rollback Strategy: --------------------------- In the event of a catastrophic failure, the Facility CIO may make the decision to back-out the patch. Because this patch contains data dictionary changes, back-out must be done with the participation of the sustainment team. The back-out plan is to restore the MILITARY STATUS field's screen code and can be provided upon request. Please call the national help desk or enter a help desk ticket, if required. No data was modified by this patch installation and, therefore, no rollback strategy is required. To verify the back-out completed successfully, ensure the MILITARY STATUS field's screen code no longer matches the patch version.
