This patch will implement the NAACCR 2024 updates and EDITs metafile The patch will implement the remainder of the NAACCR 2024 field updates and the v24 EDITs metafile. These changes are based on the NAACCR 2024 Implementation Guide. 2. This patch will include NAACCR 2024 Implementation Guide updates The patch will provide including updates for SSDi (Site Specific Data Item) updates (section 3.1 of the Implementation Guide), AJCC (American Joint Commission On Cancer) Version 9 protocols (section 5.6) as well as Histology updates (section 5.7), and EOD (Extent of Disease) updates (section 5.8). 3. This patch will update the extract reports to v24 The patch will update the State, RCRS (Rapid Cancer Reporting System) and NCDB (National Cancer Database) reports to the latest NAACCR layout. 4. This patch will force any completed 2024 cases to Partial status and not allow 2025 cases to be completed This patch will reset any completed 2024 Abstracts to Partial status and will not allow users to complete any 2025 cases. This is because the 2025 metafile is not implemented yet. The next patch will allow users to complete 2025 cases. 5. This patch will display users with no initials in the New Person (#200) file This patch have a post-init routine that will display and users in the Oncology Package that do not have the INITIAL (#1) field in the New Person (#200) file set. 6. This patch will fix an issue with the Histology display The display of the histology would revert to the original value for cases accessioned from suspense. This patch will fix the issue in the display. 7. This patch will restrict the Casefinding Source values This patch will restrict the values in the Casefinding Source (#21) field of the Oncology Primary (#165.5) file to only the values specified in the VACRS manual. 8. This patch change the default values of two fields The Reporting Facility (#.03) field of the Oncology Primary (#165.5) file will default to the facility in the Registry Parameters and the Type of Reporting Source (#1.2) field of the Oncology Primary (#165.5) file will default to a value of 1. 9. This patch will update and display the names to two fields This patch will change the name of field #49 of the Oncology Primary (#165.5) file to DATE 1ST CRS RX COC and change the name of field #49.9 of the Oncology Primary (#165.5) file to DATE INITIAL RX SEER. These 2 fields will now display in the First Course of Treatment section and the Extended Abstract Display. The pre-installation process checks all Oncology package users to determine if they have their initials defined in the NEW PERSON (#200) file, INITIAL (#1) field. Load the KIDS distribution file via the 'Load a Distribution' option on the KIDS Installation menu. 2. Prior to installing the patch you may want to make use of the following optional installation options located on the KIDS Installation menu: a. Verify Checksums in Transport Global - This option will allow you to ensure the integrity of the routines that are in the transport global. b. Compare Transport Global to Current System - This option will allow you to view all changes that will be made when this patch is installed. It compares all components of this patch (routines, DD's, templates, etc.). c. Backup a Transport Global - This option will create a backup message. You must use this option and specify what to backup; the entire Build or just Routines. The backup message can be used to restore the routines and components of the build to the pre-patch condition. i. At the Installation option menu, select Backup a Transport Global ii. At the Select INSTALL NAME prompt, enter build name ONC*2.2*21 iii. When prompted for the following, enter "R" for Routines or "B" for Build. Back out/Rollback Plan ---------------------- Backout of this patch will be performed only with the concurrence and participation of the appropriate VA site/region personnel. The decision to back out the patch will be a joint decision between VA site/region personnel and other appropriate VA personnel. Prior to installing the updated KIDS package, the site/region should have saved a backup of the routines in a mail message using the Backup a Transport Global [XPD BACKUP] menu option. The message containing the backed up routines can be loaded with the "Xtract PackMan" function at the Message Action prompt. The PackMan function INSTALL/CHECK MESSAGE is then used to install the backed-up routines onto the VistA system. Note: In the event that a site decides to back out this patch, the site should contact the National Service Desk (NSD) to submit an IT Service Desk ticket. The development team will then assist with the backout process and restoration of the DD and Input Template. Validation of Backout Procedure of the Routines: ----------------------------------------------- The Backout procedure can be verified by printing the first two lines of the ONC routines contained in this patch using the option First Line Routine Print [XU FIRST LINE PRINT].
