 On June 16, 2020 the Legacy Viewer Support (LVS) Station 200 VistA 
 instance migrated off of a VMS platform and onto a LINUX platform. As a
 result, the IP address associated with the FQDN "FHIE.DOMAIN.EXT" has
 necessarily changed.
  
 The purpose of this patch is to inform system managers of a necessary 
 update to the TCP/IP ADDRESS field for your institution's VAFHIE HL7
 sender link (if not already completed).
    
 Note: LVS Station 200 was previously known as BHIE Station 200. LVS 
 Station 200 provides access to DoD clinical patient data for all CPRS
 users. 
    
 Detail and Required Action:
 ============================  
  
 Immediately after the migration from VMS to LINUX, a significant dropoff
 in patient data queries to LVS Station 200 was noted. Investigation
 revealed a large amount of network traffic still being directed to the old
 IP address even after DNS record updates for the LVS Station 200 FQDN had
 completed.
  
 It was determined that the most likely cause was that sites were 
 referencing a numerical IP in the VAFHIE sender link rather than the FQDN
 "FHIE.DOMAIN.EXT" as has been long advised.
  
 To rectify the issue short term, LVS Station 200 is currently accepting 
 both the prior AND the new numerical IP address for a temporary period of
 duration to be announced. To ensure sites are accurately configured to
 retrieve DoD patient data for their CPRS users after this period expires,
 system managers should set/edit their site VAFHIE HL Logical Link TCP/IP
 ADDRESS field to the FQDN "FHIE.DOMAIN.EXT" using FileMan or the HL EDIT
 LOGICAL LINKS VistA menu option.
