Shortcuts pointing to ePCS GUI must be updated using the same local, VISN, or Regional processes used to update CPRS GUI shortcuts. ********************************************************************** Below is a list of all the applications involved in this release along with their patch numbers: APPLICATION/VERSION PATCH --------------------------------------------------------------- OUTPATIENT PHARMACY v7.0 PSO*7.0*545 ORDER ENTRY/RESULTS REPORTING v3.0 OR*3.0*499 INPATIENT MEDICATIONS v5.0 PSJ*5.0*372 KERNEL v8.0 XU*8.0*689 The Kernel patch XU*8.0*689 is being released in a host file as a standalone patch. The remaining patches are being released in the Kernel Installation and Distribution System (KIDS) multi-package build PSO_545_PSJ_372_OR_499.KID. *********************************************************************** ********* ATTENTION ********* ATTENTION ********* ATTENTION *********** *********************************************************************** The multi-package host file containing this patch must be installed IMMEDIATELY after installing XU*8.0*689. After the installation of XU*8.0*689, controlled substance (CS) medication orders are not permitted until the multi-package build PSO_545_PSJ_372_OR_499.KID has been installed. ************************************************************************** ************************************************************************** This group of patches follow an initial release consisting of patches XU*8*688, PSO*7*529, and PSO*7*684. This patch OR*3*499 has the following enhancements: 1. The routine invoked by the ORDEA SIGINFO RPC is being enhanced to accept an additional input parameter for the order number so that the selected DEA# is displayed when signing a Controlled Substance (CS) order. 2. The Pharmacy/Treatment Encoded Order (RXE) segment of the pseudo Health Level Seven (HL7) message sent to pharmacy is being enhanced to include the DEA number selected during order entry. The enhanced message is used to create entry in the ORDER DEA ARCHIVE INFO file (#101.52). 3. The following routines have been modified to replace references to the obsolete DEA# field (#53.2) in the NEW PERSON file with the DEA number returned by the $$PRDEA^XUSER API provided by the Kernel patch XU*8*689. ORBCMA1 ORDCPS1 ORCDPSIV ORDEA01B Routine ORDEA01A has been modified to use the new API $$DETOX^XUSER. Note: These changes will not impact any existing CPRS functionality. The provider DEA number is retrieved from the NEW DEA#'s multiple field (#53.21) in the NEW PERSON file (#200), which points to the DEA NUMBERS file (#8991.9), rather than the obsolete DEA# field (#53.2) in the NEW PERSON file (#200). 4. Require Patient Address for CS Orders. When placing a Controlled Substance (CS) order in CPRS, the software allows the order to be created for Patients with a US address and no zip code on file. The validation logic invoked by the ORWDXA RPC has been enhanced to prevent controlled substance orders from being placed if the patient does not have a zip code in their U.S. address. If a zip code is not found, the message "Controlled Substance prescriptions require a patient address" is displayed, followed by any custom text added to the OR ZIP CODE MESSAGE parameter via the ENTER/EDIT MISSING ZIP CODE MESSAGE PARAMETER [OR ZIP CODE MESSAGE] option in the GUI PARAMETERS [ORW PARAM GUI] menu. 5. The option "Check Provider ePCS Configuration" [OR EPCS PROVIDER CONFIG CHECK] in VistA has been modified to display a list of DEA numbers for selection if the provider has multiple DEA numbers. Once the user selects the DEA number, the details of that DEA number will be displayed.
