The goal of this enhancement is to increase timeliness and collections of billable Non-Veterans Affairs (VA) care services. Enhancements to the existing VistA IB and AR software applications would allow for increased efficiency in workflow processes leading to best practices that would ultimately be reflected in improved customer service to our Veteran population. In order to meet these goals, this patch: 1. Adds a new field, called LOCAL STATEMENT PRINTER, in the AR SITE PARAMETER, so local statement generation occurs on a specific printer for the site. 2. Prevents statements which need to be printed locally from automatically printing during the overnight statement printing process. 3. Adds a new field to the AR DEBTOR file, called LOCAL PRINT, which indicates whether the debtor needs to have a statement printed locally. This should only occur if the overnight statement printing process was unable to send the statement for printing by the Vendor. 4. Sends an alert to Veteran Services staff if statements need to be printed locally after the overnight statement printing process completes. 5. Adds a new option to the FOLLOW-UP LETTER menu, called LOCAL STATEMENT PRINT, which allows Veteran Services staff to manually print statements that did not automatically print during the overnight print process. 6. Adds a new option to the FOLLOW-UP LETTER menu, called CLEAR LOCAL STATEMENT QUEUE, which allows users to clear the LOCAL PRINT flag for debtors after confirming that the statements were successfully printed using the LOCAL STATEMENT PRINT option (see above).
