$TXT Created by MDEVA.FO-BIRM.DOMAIN.EXT (KIDS) on Friday, 11/06/20 at 12:30 ============================================================================= Run Date: DEC 15, 2020 Designation: PREA*1*2 Package : PREA - ADVANCED MEDICATION PLATFORM Priority: Mandatory Version : 1 SEQ #1 Status: Released Compliance Date: JAN 15, 2021 ============================================================================= Subject: SAML TOKEN FUNCTIONALITY FOR AMPL Category: - Routine - Other Description: ============ This patch exports the new option PREA AMPL GUI, which has no executable calls or functions. This patch also contains a post-init routine that adds ADVANCED MEDICATION PLATFORM (AMPL) as an entry in the REMOTE APPLICATION (#8994.5) File, and links it to the new PREA AMPL GUI option. This must occur prior to the release of the full AMPL project. When using the AMPL application, if a user makes a request to see VistA data from a VistA instance where the user does not have an entry in the NEW PERSON (#200) File, this VistA system will use the Security Assertion Mark-up Language (SAML) token to authenticate the user and authorize that user to view the requested data. Part of that process is to validate that AMPL is an entry in the REMOTE APPLICATION (#8994.5) File, and then the VistA can add that user to the NEW PERSON (#200) File without user intervention and return the requested data. There is no functional testing that can be done on this patch. The only testing is to make sure the patch installs properly, and those instructions are contained in the Patch Installation section of this patch description.
