This message notifies users at facilities of the 2-Factor Authentication 
(2FA) patch release of VPFS being deployed this month.
 
Description:
============
 
To meet the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) mandate and reduce 
security vulnerabilities, VPFS is moving from Access/Verify to PIV and PIN
authentication in early July 2020. 
 
Current users are encouraged to make sure your VistA accounts are linked 
correctly to your 2FA (PIV + PIN) credentials prior to this release date, 
to assure your continuing access to the VPFS web application.
 
As a VPFS user, you should link your PIV and PIN with one or more VistA 
accounts. This is a one-time action that you MUST COMPLETE FOR EACH VISTA 
ACCOUNT you expect to use with the VPFS application, in order for you to 
enable authentication to VPFS using your PIV.  
 
  ** THIS ACCOUNT LINKING PROCESS IS A PREREQUISITE TO A SUCCESSFUL **
                   ** LOGIN TO VPFS WITH A PIV! **
 
Make sure you link to the same accounts you now possess in your VistA user
profile.

The link will direct you to go to IAM Provisioning Services, and select
"Link VistA User" in the left-hand menu. Please note, if your account is
already linked then your site will not appear in the drop-down list.
 
For any issues, follow your local facility procedures for entering a 
problem ticket. Due to the urgent nature of these patches, compliance will
be tracked.
