After installation of PSB*3*106, sites using BCMA option #10 "Barcode Label Print" [PSBO BZ] may experience human readable barcode values being overwritten by "Hazards" text or bad barcode formats when printing a label for a drug with Hazardous to Handle and/or Dispose information. This patch addresses the issue by adding a new pre-defined Terminal Type for Zebra Programming Language (ZPL) compatible printers for print density 200 DPI. For sites using other print densities, a customized label format, or non-ZPL printers such as Intermec, this patch adds a new HAZ control code to implement within the site's printer's Terminal Type's control code. For these sites, these changes to print Hazards text will not appear until the new HAZ control code is implemented within their Terminal Type. OIT assistance is needed for implementation. Details of Changes: - The PSBOBZ routine and Integration Agreement #3435 were modified. When using Barcode Label Print [PSBO BZ], all label formatting is now defined in the terminal type control codes, including the new HAZ Control Code. The New Control Code will be used to display text on the label when using option 10 Barcode Label Print [PSBO BZ] on the Medication Administration Menu Pharmacy menu for drugs containing Hazardous to Handle and/or Dispose information. - The post-install routine PSB3P131 will add the "P-TCP-ZEB-UD-HAZ 200DPI" Control Code to the TERMINAL TYPE file (#3.2). This terminal type is coded for a Zebra 200 dpi printer including control codes for HAZ drug information. - The PSBOMD routine was modified. Previously, variable 'X' was used in two loops which may have led to an infinite loop. The variables were renamed to 'ASUB' and 'SSUB' to better reflect the variables being evaluated. ************** Notice Notice Notice ********************************* If your site uses option 10 Barcode Label Print [PSBO BZ] on the Medication Administration Menu Pharmacy menu, action is needed to either use terminal type "P-TCP-ZEB-UD-HAZ 200DPI" or add control codes to existing terminal type(s) for those devices. Sample Control Code: CTRL CODE ABBREVIATION: HAZ FULL NAME: Hazardous Text Field CONTROL CODE: S PSBTYPE=$S(PSBTLE="HAZTEXT":"20,60",1:"0,0") Note: "20,60" indicates the label coordinates where Hazards information will print. Sites may need to alter these values for their label format. It is recommended to test all labels and terminal type formatting in TEST accounts before installing in Production accounts. After installation, OI&T assistance is needed to implement changes to their printer's Terminal Type record for Hazards text printing. Hazards text printing will not appear until this is done. Sites will need to do the one of the following to the Terminal Type of each device(s) used in Option 10, "Barcode Label Print" [PSBO BZ]: - Change terminal type to "P-TCP-ZEB-UD-HAZ 200DPI"; - Or add the new HAZ control code to existing terminal type(s). Back-out Procedures ------------------- Back-out of this patch will be performed only with the concurrence and participation of the appropriate VA site/region personnel.
