============================================================================= Run Date: MAY 17, 2018 Designation: PSB*3*105 Package : PSB - BAR CODE MED ADMIN Priority: Mandatory Version : 3 SEQ #85 Status: Released Compliance Date: JUN 16, 2018 ============================================================================= Associated patches: (v)PSB*3*102 <<= must be installed BEFORE `PSB*3*105' Subject: BCBU ALERT FIXES Category: - Routine Description: ============ This patch will resolve the following issue: 1. R18279880FY18 - BCBU not consistently updating Clinic Orders Defect Tracking System Ticket(s) & Overview: -------------------------------------------- 1. R18279880FY18 - BCBU not consistently updating Clinic Orders Problem: -------- It was reported that almost all of the BCBU Contingency Error Alerts that Divisional sites receive continually are for patients who are not admitted or are deceased. Furthermore, testing of BCBU data for Clinic Orders reveals that the patient records for clinics using BCMA are rarely complete causing the menu options in BCBU to be placed OUT of ORDER to prevent medication errors during contingency operations. Resolution: ----------- It was identified that updates for BCMA Medication Logs for patients that are no longer inpatient fail to identify the correct division for which the HL7 message should be sent to. A fix was made to retrieve the correct Division using the Institution in the Medication Log if the patient is no longer inpatient. In addition, the BCBU Contingency Error Alerts will no longer be generated for patients that are deceased. Test Sites: ----------- Upstate New York - Western NY Kansas City VA Medical Center Pre-Installation Overview: -------------------------- - If your site uses the BCMA Backup System (BCBU) you should install this patch in all the BCBU workstations that are currently active at your site. - This patch required Fileman v22.2 to be installed before this patch can be installed. Therefore it is important that the BCBU workstations where the this patch will be installed already have been updated with the latest version of Fileman (v22.2).
