$TXT Created by THOMPSON,Seth at CHEY204.FO-BAYPINES.MED.VA.GOV (KIDS) on Monday, 04/16/12 at 11:27 ============================================================================= Run Date: JUL 24, 2012 Designation: PSJ*5*277 Package : PSJ - INPATIENT MEDICATIONS Priority: Mandatory Version : 5 SEQ #231 Status: Released Compliance Date: AUG 24, 2012 ============================================================================= Associated patches: (v)PSJ*5*113 <<= must be installed BEFORE `PSJ*5*277' Subject: FIRST DOSE DISPLAY INCORRECT Category: - Routine Description: ============ This patch will correct an issue in which the Expected First Dose line in CPRS, as well as the REQUESTED START DATE line in Inpatient Order Entry (PSJ OE) are not displaying the correct date. ASSOCIATED NSR(S): ================== N/A ASSOCIATED REMEDY: ================== HD0000000349678 - PSPO#1521 QOD (every other day) schedule not working Duplicates: HD0000000350458 HD0000000380843 HD0000000410587 HD0000000486532 HD0000000526502 PARTICIPATING TEST SITES: ========================= Battle Creek VAMC Lebanon VAMC Upstate NY HCS REMEDY TICKET OVERVIEW: ======================= HD0000000349678 - QOD (every other day) schedule not working Patient Safety Issue -------------------- PSPO #1521 Problem: -------- The Inpatient Ward Parameter DEFAULT START DATE CALCULATION is used when determining the Expected First Dose of an order. Currently, CPRS is defaulting this parameter to be 'USE NEXT ADMIN TIME AS DEFAULT'. For sites which have this parameter set to 'USE CLOSEST ADMIN TIME AS DEFAULT' or 'USE NOW AS DEFAULT', the Expected First Dose does not match the actual first dose of the order if the order used a schedule with a frequency of more than 1 day. This defect is causing the Expected First Dose displayed in CPRS, as well as the REQUESTED START DATE in Inpatient Order Entry to display as the next possible dose instead of the next dose in the specified schedule. Example: -------- If it is currently 10 am and you are creating an order with an admin time at 9 am on a schedule of EVERY OTHER MORNING. Since Today's dose has passed, the Expected Next Dose should show as the day after tomorrow at 9 am, where it is currently showing as tomorrow at 9 am. Resolution: ----------- Routine PSJORPOE has been modified so that CPRS will calculate the Expected First Dose based on the actual selected Inpatient Ward Parameter DEFAULT START DATE CALCULATION and not always base the calculation on 'USE NEXT ADMIN TIME AS DEFAULT'. Installation Instructions: ========================== The patch should be installed when NO Inpatient Pharmacy or Outpatient Pharmacy users are on the system.
