============================================================================= Run Date: AUG 20, 2020 Designation: PSJ*5*388 Package : PSJ - INPATIENT MEDICATIONS Priority: Mandatory Version : 5 SEQ #346 Status: Released Compliance Date: SEP 19, 2020 ============================================================================= Associated patches: (v)PSJ*5*194 <<= must be installed BEFORE `PSJ*5*388' (v)PSJ*5*330 <<= must be installed BEFORE `PSJ*5*388' (v)OR*3*507 <<= must be installed BEFORE `PSJ*5*388' Subject: PSPO 848 COMPLEX ORDER CALCULATING INCORRECT START DATE Category: - Routine Description: ============ The build for this patch is distributed as part of a multi-package build that contains OR*3.0*507 and PSJ*5.0*388. PSPO 848 identified 2 issues with complex orders. This patch only addresses one of the issues as shown below. Complex order not calculating correct Start Date. 1. At the reporting site on 1-10-08, a new order was entered for Ferrous Sulfate Liquid: 300mg QAM for 3 days, then 300mg BID for 3 days, then 300mg TID. Order start dates calculations: QAM order start date calculated as 1-11-08@0600 BID order start date calculated as 1-13-08@1800 (NOTE - The QAM last dose is 1-13-08@0600, therefore the BID first dose should be 1-14-08@0600.) TID order start date calculated as 1-16-08@1400 Two doses were erroneously calculated to be given on 1-13-08. The issue of overlapping administration schedules for a complex order was presented at the Safety Updates for Medication Prescription Management (SUMPM) meeting on 10/24/2019. The following rules were decided. - START DATE of a component should match the STOP DATE of a previous component. Also, the START DATE of a component does not need to align with an admin time of the new component's schedule. - TIME on the STOP DATE should always end up being an admin time. While testing, one of the test sites, Heartland East, reported 2 pre-existing issues that are not addressed by this patch. They will be addressed at the same time as the 2nd part of PSPO848 (Rational ticket #1261856). - When the orderable item of the drug is changed which updates the dispense drug, it caused the start/stop time calculation to be miscalculated. - When the schedule is changed, the start/stop dates/times for the orders with schedule change don't calculate properly.
