INC18413351 - Patch Medication Renewal Issue Problem: -------- Inpatient patch medication renewals are displaying an incorrect Expected First Dose date when the order is renewed 1) in Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS) and 2) at a time of day prior to the administration time. After renewing an order that has a schedule to administer every 'x' number of days under the 2 conditions listed above, the problem is seen when the user selects to edit the Admin Times field while processing the order (but before accepting it) in the Inpatient Order Entry [PSJ OE] option. The problem is occurring because the original order's start date/time doesn't exist during pharmacy processing. This is due to the original start date/time not being filed correctly into the NON-VERIFIED ORDERS file (#53.1) when the order is renewed in CPRS. When the order is finished, the start and stop dates/times are correct, the problem only affects the Expected First Dose date. Resolution: ----------- The resolution is to modify routine PSJHL7 so that the original start date/time and stop date/time is filed into the NON-VERIFIED ORDERS file (#53.1). Prior to this patch, the START DATE/TIME field (#10) and STOP DATE/TIME field (#25) were set to null by RENEW^PSJHL7. Technical Resolution: --------------------- Code changes to PSJHL7: - Added "newing" of PSGNESD and PSGNEFD at RENEW+1 - Set PSGNESD=$P(ND2,U,2) and PSGNEFD=$P(ND2,U,4) at RENEW+6 - Removed setting of PSGNESD and PSGNEFD to null at RENEW+12 Test Sites: ----------- Coatesville VAMC (Coatesville, PA) Louis Stokes Cleveland VAMC (Cleveland, OH) Software and Documentation Retrieval Instructions: -------------------------------------------------- The software for this patch is being released in a PackMan message. Documentation describing the new functionality is not included in this release. Back-Out/Roll Back Plan: ------------------------ Back-out will be done only with the concurrence and participation of development team and appropriate VA site/region personnel. The decision to back-out or rollback software will be a joint decision between the development team, VA site/region personnel and other appropriate VA personnel. Prior to installing an updated KIDS package, the site/region should have saved a backup of the routines in a mail message using the Backup a Transport Global [XPD BACKUP] menu option (this is done at time of install). The message containing the backed-up routines can be loaded with the "Xtract PackMan" function at the Message Action prompt. The PackMan function "INSTALL/CHECK MESSAGE" is then used to install the backed-up routines onto the VistA System. If the patch was backed up for the build, from the Kernel Installation and Distribution System Menu, select the Installation Menu. Then select the Install Package(s) option and choose the patch (PSJ*5.0*427b) to install. The back-out plan is to restore the routines from the backup created. No data was modified by this patch installation and, therefore, no rollback strategy is required. Validation of Back-out Procedure: --------------------------------- The Back-out Procedure can be verified by printing the first 2 lines of the routine contained in this patch using the option First Line Routine Print [XU FIRST LINE PRINT]. Once the routines contained in the PSJ*5.0*427 patch have been backed out, the first two lines of the routines will no longer contain the designation of this patch in the patch list section on line 2. Routine Information: ==================== The second line of each of these routines now looks like: ;;5.0;INPATIENT MEDICATIONS;**[Patch List]**;16 DEC 97;Build 2 The checksums below are new checksums, and can be checked with CHECK1^XTSUMBLD.
