The root of problem is the fact that some sites had also upgraded the server where VistA is running and the current Unix/Linux Local Directory set in the PPS-N Site Parameters (Enter/Edit) [PSN PPS PARAM] option was not present in the new server. Before the upgrade VistA would automatically create or ask the users if they wanted to manually create the new directory for a new server for sites using Cache', however after upgrading to Iris that functionality no longer worked resulting in the problem reported by the sites. Resolution: ----------- Update the logic for the Manual Download of the NDF file [PSN PPS MANUAL DOWNLOAD] option and the PPS-N Site Parameters(Enter/Edit) [PSN PPS PARAM] option to include "IRIS", in addition to "CACHE", when checking for the Mumps version. This will allow VistA to automatically create or ask the users if they want to manually create the directory for a new server for sites running Intersystems using Cache' or Iris. Technical Resolution: --------------------- Modify the line tags MAKEDIR and DIREXIST in the routine PSNFTP2 to check for "IRIS" as well "CACHE". Also modify the line tags LXDIR and UNXLDIR in the routine PSNPARM to check for "IRIS" as well "CACHE". Test Sites: ----------- Muskogee - Jack C. Back-out/Rollback Strategy: --------------------------- Back-out will be done only with the concurrence and participation of development team and appropriate VA site/region personnel. The decision to back-out or rollback software will be a joint decision between development team, VA site/region personnel and other appropriate VA personnel. Prior to installing an updated KIDS package, the site/region should have saved a backup of the routines in a mail message using the Backup a Transport Global [XPD BACKUP] menu option (this is done at time of install). The message containing the backed-up routines can be loaded with the "Xtract PackMan" function at the Message Action prompt. The Packman function "INSTALL/CHECK MESSAGE" is then used to install the backed-up routines onto the VistA System. No data was modified by this patch installation and, therefore, no rollback strategy is required. Validation of Back-out Procedure --------------------------------- The Back-out Procedure can be verified by printing the first 2 lines of the PSJ Routines contained in this patch using the option First Line Routine Print [XU FIRST LINE PRINT]. Once the routines contained in the PSN*4.0*573 patch have been rolled back, the first two lines of the Routines will no longer contain the designation of patch PSN*4.0*573 in the patch list section on line 2. Routine Information: ==================== The second line of each of these routines now looks like: ;;4.0;NATIONAL DRUG FILE;**[Patch List]**; 30 Oct 98;Build 6 The checksums below are new checksums, and can be checked with CHECK1^XTSUMBLD.
