The Med Guide is retrieved from a central VA shared location and displayed in a browser on the local Windows workstation. Defect Tracking System Ticket(s) & Overview: ============================================ 1. JIRA Task Id: VistaPSN-260 - FDA Med Guides On-Demand Decommissioning Problem: -------- The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Medication (Med) Guides On-Demand functionality in Vista is being retired. When users select the FDA Medication Guide (MG) option for their prescription in Vista or the Display FDA Medication Guide (FDA) option, the application will no longer attempt to automatically open the Med Guide associated with that drug in the user's browser. Instead, the user will be provided a link which they can place in their browser and access the Med Guide for the drug. Resolution: ----------- The routine PSNFDAMG has been modified to no longer call the method which automatically opens the Medication Guide in the user's browser. Instructions on the option have been modified to match the change in functionality. Test Sites: ----------- Sheridan VA Medical Center - (Wyoming) WY Orlando VA Medical Center - (Florida) FL Software and Documentation Retrieval Instructions: ------------------------------------------------- The patch will be released in Forum via Packman mailman message. Backout/Rollback Strategy: -------------------------- Back-out will be done only with the concurrence and participation of development team and appropriate VA site/region personnel. The decision to back-out or rollback software will be a joint decision between development team, VA site/region personnel and other appropriate VA personnel. Prior to installing an updated KIDS package, the site/region should have saved a backup of the routines in a mail message using the Backup a Transport Global [XPD BACKUP] menu option (this is done at time of install). The message containing the backed-up routines can be loaded with the "Xtract PackMan" function at the Message Action prompt. The Packman function "INSTALL/CHECK MESSAGE" is then used to install the backed-up routines onto the VistA System. If the patch was backed up for the build, from the Kernel Installation and Distribution System Menu, select the Installation Menu. Select the Install Package(s) option and choose the patch (PSN*4.0*572b) to install. The back-out plan is to restore the routines or build from the backup created. No data was modified by this patch installation and, therefore, no rollback strategy is required. Validation of Back-out Procedure: -------------------------------- The Back-out Procedure can be verified by printing the first 2 lines of the PSN Routine contained in this patch using the option First Line Routine Print [XU FIRST LINE PRINT]. Once the routine contained in the PSN*4.0*572 patch has been backed out, the second line of the Routine will no longer contain the designation of patch PSN*4.0*572 in the patch list section.
