Description:

 The new Virtual Patient Record (VPR) package will enable extraction of 
 patient health data from VistA into an Extensible Markup Language (XML)
 document, for use in new web applications and to share with other federal
 and private sector providers.  Some of this code was previously released 
 as part of the Nationwide Health Information Network (NwHIN) project.
  
 This release of VPR 1.0 will load 22 routines and add the following file 
 entries:
  
     VPR APPLICATION PROXY to the OPTION file (#19),
     VPR DATA VERSION to the REMOTE PROCEDURE file (#8994),
     VPR GET PATIENT DATA to the REMOTE PROCEDURE file (#8994).
  
 The post-install routine will create a new proxy user in the New Person
 file #200 called VPR,APPLICATION PROXY.

 which will transmit the files from the first available FTP server.  Sites
 may also elect to retrieve these files directly from a specific server at

 Installation Instructions:
 =========================
 This package may be installed with users on the system; however, it should
 be installed at a non-peak time to minimize disruption to the users.
 Installation of this patch should take less than 1 minute.
  
 1.  From the Kernel Installation and Distribution System Menu, select
     the Installation menu.
  
 2.  Use the 'Load a Distribution' option, and type VPR1_0.KID when 
     prompted to Enter a Host File Name.  You may need to prepend a 
     directory name.
  
 3.  From this menu, you may elect to use the following options (when
     Prompted for INSTALL NAME, enter 'VPR 1.0'):
     a.  Print Transport Global
     b.  Compare Transport Global to Current System
     c.  Verify Checksums in Transport Global
     d.  Backup a Transport Global
  
 4.  Use the 'Install Package(s)' option and select 'VPR 1.0'.
  
 5.  When prompted 'Want KIDS to Rebuild Menu Trees Upon Completion of 
     Install? NO//', respond NO.
  
 6.  When prompted 'Want KIDS to INHIBIT LOGONs during the install? NO//',
     respond NO.
  
 7.  When prompted 'Want to DISABLE Scheduled Options, Menu Options, and 
     Protocols? NO//', respond NO.
  
 8. The post-init routine VPRPI may be deleted once the installation has
    completed. Sites should use the Kernel "Delete Routines" option
    [XTRDEL] to delete these routines.
  
 9. If VistALink 1.5 is not running, configure it to run at this time.
