============================================================================= Run Date: FEB 16, 2023 Designation: WEBS*1*1 Package : WEBS - VISTA AUDIT SOLUTION Priority: Mandatory Version : 1 SEQ #1 Status: Released Compliance Date: MAR 19, 2023 ============================================================================= Subject: Initial Release of VistA Audit Solution UI Category: - Informational Description: ============ Informational patch WEBS*1*1 announces the release of the VistA Audit Solution (VAS) web application version 1.0. The VAS application is a real-time web-based interface that has dependencies on VistA patient data. It provides a nationwide HIPAA compliant Audit Tracking Solution with the ability to track and report on access logs for patient's PII/PHI data across all VistA instances. VAS users are Privacy Officers and Information Systems Security Officers (ISSO) and their authorized representatives who need the ability to view the log of Create, Read, Update and/or Delete (CRUD) operations on patient information to respond to FOIA, HIPAA, employee and Inspector General (IG) requests. This data originates from VistA and flows through in-memory database servers to be stored in the Veterans Affairs Enterprise Cloud (VAEC) Amazon Web Services (AWS). VAS web-based User Interface will access and display the data stored in AWS. VistA Audit Solution (VAS) creates and maintains a centralized database of the audited fields for VistA DG Registration data. The goal of VAS is to improve VistA's security posture and provide better IT services for Veterans. As part of the project, the VistA Audit Solution (VAS) will be implemented utilizing a database storage system in the Veterans Affairs Enterprise Cloud (VAEC) Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud. The VistA Audit Solution (VAS) will improve the ability of the Veterans Administration to respond to Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) inquiries regarding VistA system user's interaction with Veteran's data. This will ensure that access to Veteran's data can be adequately accounted for to the inquiring party. Patch WEBS*1*1 is provided as supporting documentation of the overall VAS application.
