Manages the VistaHeartBeatTimerTask to synchronize all access to the Timer and the TimerTask. All public methods are synchronized(this) If the environment is J2EE this class disables the heartbeat.

Method Detail

addManagedConnection

public void addManagedConnection(VistaLinkManagedConnection mc,
                                 long heartBeatRate)
                          throws HeartBeatInitializationFailedException

J2SE: Adds a managed connection to perform heartbeat on. This method will activate the timer if it has not already been started.

J2EE: Does not activate the Timer as no timer is used in J2EE implementation. Gets the heartbeat rate from M.

Parameters:

mc - - the managed connection to add

Throws:

HeartBeatInitializationFailedException

removeManagedConnection

public void removeManagedConnection(VistaLinkManagedConnection mc)

J2SE: Removes a managed connection from the heart beat task. The timer is cancelled if there are no managed connections in the list.

J2EE: This method returns immediately as no managed connection have been added.

Parameters:

mc - -the managed connection to be removed from the list

isHeartBeatActive

public boolean isHeartBeatActive()

Returns the heartBeatActive.

getHeartBeatRate

public long getHeartBeatRate()

Returns the heartBeatRate.
